Even on Metformin, the Rx for 'weight loss' is that there still must be an overall calorie deficit.
If you normally walk a lot during the day, your body has 'completely' adapted to that, and in all likelihood your body takes in enough calories to 'balance' your output.
You might want to actually 'journal' what you're eating (and weigh and measure) so that you have a clear picture of how many calories you consume each day. It's VERY easy to go over what you need by just 200 calories - even eating healthy food (200 calories is the amount of 2 apples).
Also, you might want to consider taking your daily activity up to the minimum suggested for weight loss which is 300 minutes per week (on top of daily activities.) Within that 300 minutes aim for at least three, 30-minute total body strength workouts...the other 210 minutes can be cardio.
Most women when they're very carefully watching 'calories' (not just eating well), and when they're very diligent about 'real' exercise start to see changes in their health and their bodies - even before weight/bodyfat loss happens.
But in the absence of an overall calorie deficit, significant bodyfat loss will not happen on met alone. (that's the 'bad' news)
The good news is that with diet & exercise, met can be a big help.
