Default When you first felt the baby...

I am almost 17 weeks pregnant and haven't yet felt any movement but I was curious where others felt it first. Was it very low or toward the middle of your stomach? Was it near the middle or off to one side. I know it is early to feel movement, especially since I am a little heavy but I am hoping to be able to recognize it when it starts to happen. This is my first baby and I am so very excited.

Thanks

I felt my first flutters at about 15 weeks. They just felt like tiny little muscle twitches, low down in my abdomen (probably mid-way between my belly button and pubic bone). At first they are so slight that you doubt them.

I wouldn't read into too much what you read online - I read that my husband wouldn't be able to feel the baby kick until about 28 weeks!! Well he felt her at 21/22 so that sure isn't true

I'm sure you'll feel the baby any day now! Good luck!

I feel mine like really low and mostly only on my left side in almost the same place for the past two weeks. I'm thinking the baby is like sideways and the feet are there.

Around 16-17 weeks is when I first felt the fluttering. It was very sporadic and I honestly can't even tell you where in my stomach it was happening.

Not to worry, at my appointments the nurse didn't start asking me about fetal movements until after my 24th week I think...it was around there.

I think where you feel movement depends on when you feel it. When I first started feeling this baby it was really low, around my c-section scar (below my pantyline). Now she's moving up some, so I feel some right under my belly button, but also some down toward my pantyline still.

I felt DD at 12 weeks & the twins at 8 weeks. I know alot of people say that's too early but when I went to the ultrasounds & told Dr I feel the babies here or there they would confirm that was baby's location. I was suprised with how early I felt the twins but dr said because it was my 2nd pg & there was multiples it was possible. DH started feeling the twins at 12 weeks & I don't remember with DD. It's weird because they gravitate to his hand & voice. I think it's because he has big warm hands & a deep voice. I am almost 18 weeks & I continually get kicks or punches to the lungs by the baby on top & baby on bottom uses my bladder like a squeeze toy.

Also, books are horrible at telling you how much above or below multiple babies are from your navel. I was complaining to dr about how books say 2-3 inches below your navel but I am feeling top baby on the top of my stomach. He said because the baby is there & those books don't do justice for mommies of multiples.

I felt the first flutters of DD (my first) right around 15-16 weeks. Noticeable kick/movement consistently was around 18-19 weeks.
With DS(my second) I was actually around 13 weeks when I felt the flutters.
I'm not sure with this one when I will...I guess time will tell.

With DD#1, I felt them around 16 weeks....it was like little flutters down low in my belly. Kinda like belly gas rippling along my belly...

With DD#2, it was around 12 weeks when I felt those same flutters. Now, lol, maybe it was belly gas...but I am convinced it was the baby...

One thing I found. If I was sitting at my desk, (or at my computer desk, or even the kitchen table, kwim?) if I sat forward, it pressed my belly against my legs...and I could easily feel movement.

I started wondering "is that the baby?" just before 18weeks, and was SURE it was the baby before 20weeks. During that time he felt like a golf ball with a mind of its own trapped inside a water balloon. I never felt him as "flutters." Now, he feels like a little baby trapped inside a water balloon. LOL

i felt "flutters" at 16 weeks. i call it fluters, but it was a squishy feeling. it felt like if you've ever rocked a water balloon in your hands, sloshy. but i also def feel them more if i lean forward when sitting down. congrats!!
