DH and I have decided to adopt. We are thinking about the foster/adopt program in our state. Can anyone tell me what we need to do to get started? I know we have to do parenting classes and homestudy....but what from there?? What to expect....?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your decision to foster to adopt! It's a major decision and it's so heartwarming to hear your plans.

I don't have any experience in that type of adoption, but I have 2 girls from China so I can help out on that end of things if you have any questions.

Nice to see you. We are adopting and just two weeks ago our two boys, who are 2 and 6 years old, were placed with us as a pre adoptive placement. Every state is diffrent but a class and home study are always done. Our home study took a while but the whole process from begining to placement was about 10 months. It has been sooooo worth it. congrats on your decision to adopt from foster care there are so many great kids waiting for forever families.
