>>>When you use shampoos that contain chemicals such as sodium laurel sulfate or propylene glycol, your hair follicles themselves are damaged and your body is constantly trying to repair itself. Because these caustic chemicals cannot be washed off our bodies with water they actually penetrate the skin-barrier and are absorbed into our tissues. This absorption process can cause the sebum of the hair shaft to become crystallized, effectively closing the hair follicle. The resultant induction of skin tightness of the scalp severely reduces life-giving blood flow to the hair follicle! Over a period of time the crystallized sebum prevents the re-growth of healthy hair. As a further result of this damage by chemical emulsifiers the hair follicles itself deteriorates and can no longer produce hair! The result is thinning and receding hairlines in both men AND women.
PRODUCT INGREDIENT ANALYSIS
If a client is experiencing hair loss, or other hair or scalp problems, chemicals to avoid (in shampoos, conditioners and hair spray) are: propylene glycol, othium laurel sulfate, sodium laurel sulfate, hydrolyzed animal protein (lard), copolymers, sodium (salt), wood alcohol, and glycerine (unless it says 'natural). <<<
Going to check for this shampoos, and lather up where I don't want the hairs. It also talks about the blood flow. I wonder if you apply daily pressure to stop the blood, will the end results be weaken hair shafts...Hmmm!
You find them in just about every shampoo, body wash, and soap out there. If you're washing yourself with any commercially prepared cleanser, you're already using plenty of these ingredients. Assuming you still have unwanted hair, it's obvious these ingredients do not do anything harmful.

Hydrolized animal protein is just fat. Shampoos typically used vegetable oil instead of lard because it's liquid, whereas bar soap would use the lard because it's solid. It makes no difference as far as cleansing or harshness goes.
The fats and fat derivatives that are typically in shampoos are PEG, stearic acid, oils (soybean, almond, etc) and butters (cocoa, for example), glycerin, and glyceryl stearate. There are many more possibilities, but these are pretty common.
Also note that a lot of these compounds are found in body lotions, especially glycerin, because of their great abillity to retain moisture.

I read something about this MYTH in cosmetology school. All shampoos and other hair treatments have to be approved to be non harmful b4 even thought to be put on the shelves in stores. and if this was true wouldnt everyone have short broken hair?
