This can be the new place for updates/questions, etc.
I'm on week 7 of Insulite and feel great. My excess hair has slowed, I have more energy, no food cravings, still no AF though. I did spot on 3 different days in the first 2 weeks of the program. I had lost 20 pounds but put back on 4 last week while on vacation, bah! I took the pills but my diet was pretty horrible all week and I only did 30 minutes of exercise on two days. I'm back to the full diet and 1 hour exercise today and hope to get right back on track.

Hi! I'm so happy I found all this info about Insulite. You are all an inspiration and I can't wait to start the program! I just ordered yesterday and I'm eagerly waiting for it to arrive. I was diagnosed 12 years ago with PCOS and just quit BC a year ago. I have had regular periods w/o the bc, but I still have all the other symptoms. My husband and I are ready for babies, but we haven't had any luck for the past few months. I'm really hoping this will help me out. How many people have conceived after starting Insulite?
I'm selling my pills. It was great the first month, the second month I couldn't take a single pill without serious pain in the stomach. J(underscore)M(underscore)Spear at yahoo.
I don't want to pop anyone's bubbles but I read the info on the Insulite website (because hey, who doesn't want a miracle cure for this crap?) and it seems to me to kind of be a rip off. If you think about it, everything except for the pills are GUARENTEED to help lower your weight, your insulin levels, your cholestoral. Exercise and Diet are kind of no brainers. And from several of the posts, it seems that when you stop exercising, you start gaining weight again. It seems that the only thing they can really charge for is the pills, and that's why they push them.
Ally you're exactly right, the pills are pushed b/c most people can do diet and exercise on their own. HOWEVER, people with PCOS often find that diet and exercise on their own is NOT enough. Back in the day, I ran 2 miles at the crack of dawn every day, then had lean cuisine for lunch, then came home and walked my dogs for 30 mins. Never lost a single pound. This is also why so many of us are prescribed glucophage/metformin, chlomid, BCPs, and often a myriad of other drugs. In the same vein, many turn to vitamin supplements such as the Insulite program to help beyond what they can do on their own. If diet and exercise alone were truly enough to cure illnesses (like PCOS), drug companies and health care organizations wouldn't be around.
Ally-
Obviously there is no "miracle cure" for PCOS, I agree that anyone who thinks so is naive. But, if these pills can help with ANY of the symptoms or problems, don't you think they are worth a try? As with any diet or exercise program...if you stop dieting or exercising of course you are going to gain the weight back. I guess I was just looking for some extra help with other symptoms. Just because it doesn't work for some people doesn't mean it won't work for everybody.

Just my take on things.
I have to agree with what others said here in response. If it was easy for individuals with PCOS to just lose weight with diet and exercise alone, there would not be so many of us on supplements, prescriptions, etc. I was on a 800 calorie diet and was working out at least 3 times a week, and I was still gaining weight. Exercise and diet alone are often not enough for many of us.
Insulite does not claim to be a miracle system with taking pills alone. In fact, they include diet and exercise as the major part of the program and tell you the system pretty much won't work if you are not following a proper diet and exercise.
The reason I started ordering it was because the price for purchasing the natural supplements I wanted seperately came out to more than purchasing the system, they include many of the herbs, minerals and vitamins studied to improve insulin resistance and symptoms of PCOS.
I'm thinking of not ordering the system for another month and trying vitex and other options since I still haven't gotten AF. (I have lost 21 pounds though.) And I start a new insurance that will cover Metformin and Clomid in January so I'll probably go that route if I still had no luck. I wanted to try natural supplements before going on Metformin and other prescriptions and found this to be the best value for me.
If you are looking for a miracle cure by just taking pills, I think you'll be hard pressed to find that anywhere, whether met, insulite, vitex, etc.

Insulite worked great for me. I was on them for 6 months, and went from 155 to 135 lbs. I had so much more energy and finally got AF at month 5 of taking them. I don't know how healthy they are, but they helped so much with food cravings, energy, and losing weight.
This may be an instance of try it and see if it works, like most any other drugs/supplements. Mine worked, but they hurt my stomach during the second month. I think you'll find the program works for a lot of ppl in here, but that could be because only ppl who are interested in or enjoy Insulite post in here. I think you are backed far enough in a corner, you'll do and try just about anything to get out of it.
As far as Dr's saying the plan is a "complete scam," I think this depends on how much weight your Dr. gives to natural remedies. My original general MD discredits most naturalistic plans and writes a prescription for everything, needless to say I no longer to go him because I prefer natural methods if possible to prescription medication. He would also say this plan is a "scam" but as seen in the original insulite thread, many naturalistic Dr's said this plan's ingredients are right on for what they are supposed to do. My own Dr. told me there is no harm in this program and if anything, it can absolutely help with my Insulin resistance. He fully supported my use of the supplements, in addition to proper diet and exercise, before trying Metformin.
I'm on my 7th week of the plan and today I got my AF in full. I had spotted the first week of taking the supplements but no AF until today. This is the first time I've gotten my period on my own in over 10 years. I've lost 23 pounds and feel better than I have in my life.
Saying this, I have decided to stop ordering the pills so this will be my last week on them. I will be switching to more cost effective natural supplements I've decided on with my Dr. and with the help of the information on this site. Also still sticking to diet and exercise. Do I credit Insulite for my period, regulating blood sugar, losing weight? I'm not sure, but I can credit the system for giving me the kick start I needed to start eating right and exercising and start heading in the right direction for my health, as well as preparing my body for hopefully getting pregnant sometime soon.

Just wanted to add in my two sense, I am currently on my 3rd week of the program and AF has shown up. I totally believe that it was the pills that brought it on and I have not started to exercize or changed my eating habbits, I plan to take it for a few more months to see what happens and hopefully will start to change my diet and exercize as well.
