I am starting my second month on insulite and I feel better than I have in years I have lost 18 pounds and I have the energy to exercise 5 to 6 times a week! Did i lose the weight because of the exercise maybe and maybe the pills don't work for anything other than the energy but i love participating in life again and i think my husband likes is too!!! My sugar cravings are basically gone I am eating more protein and way less carbs/sugars than before ACANTHOSIS NIGRACANIS IS GONE!!!! CHIN HAIRS NEARLY GONE!!! so i feel that they do help me and i had a severe snoring problem that has lessened dramatically and i actually wake up in the morning and feel as though i have slept all night!!! IT IS EXPENSIVE BUT SO ARE FERTILITY TREATMENTS!!! and even if i don't get pregnant using INSULITE then i will present my best body to go through further medical treatments!!! But affording them for me has been ok because I now have the desire and ENERGY to work overtime at my job so tht my husband doesn't have to stress about another 140$ a month going out I make sure i bring that much in extra at least!!!

I went back on bcp for 6 months up to 12/08 not once did AF come in 1/09 got AF and in 02/09 after 2 weeks on insulite and at day 29 of cycle AF showed up again!!!
we will see what happens next month!!!

I have looked at some of the ingredients of the products and they seem to be all the ones widely used for pcos. It seems a little over my price range now, and I am very afraid of putting up that kind of money, especially with the economy as it is I am pinching all my pennies as it is just to pay bills. How is their diet and exercise program, are the recipes good or how does it work? I just cannot see cooking two separate meals for me and my husband, so if it does not taste good I don't see the point of trying it. I am very interrested in this system but does it really help the side effects of pcos?

I found Insulite a few weeks ago while searching the net. I came to this site to see how others have done on the system because this is pretty much the only place with any kind of neutral feedback. After reading through the positive and negative responses I decided to go ahead and give the system a 2 month trial. I wanted to post my progress to date in hopes that it will help the next person decide whether or not to try the system. I'll try to continue to post because one thing I really wish would happen is that those that have tried the system for a longer period of time and stopped would post their progress after stopping.

Quick background. I self diagnosed PCOS about 11 years ago and was officially diagnosed about a year and a half later. My periods have always been very irregular - for the most part, they come anywhere from every 3 to 6 months. They usually last at least 7 days and are usually pretty heavy. I know that I don't ovulate... pretty much ever. I'm about 40 pounds overweight and I have the typical pcos symptoms that have worsened the last few years - excess hair growth, acne, hair loss. I've been diagnosed with chronic fatigue.

I started taking the pills on 2/20/09. I have found that taking so many pills a day hasn't been as bad as I thought (I do have a lot of experience taking large amounts of pills a day though so I wasn't as scared off by that). The morning of 2/23/09 I started spotting. I continued to spot only in the AM for the next 5 days. AF officially started 2/28/09 - after only 8 days on the system. I know this is no coincident! I should mention that my last true period was near the end of October 2008 although I've had some spotting spells since then. The week prior to starting the system I fell into a fatigue slump (which happens with me). I was hoping the pills would boost my energy immediately as some have mentioned, however, I have noticed no increase in energy. I'm still hopeful though as I haven't even completed 2 full weeks on the program. I have not lost any weight to date, nor have I noticed any other changes. I experienced very minor diarrhia the first couple of days but haven't had any problems with any other side effects. I haven't really changed my eating habits much although I'm always trying to eat healthy. I started really exercising in October 2008 and have continued with that.

I'm hopeful that I will continue to see positive "side effects" from taking the pills. I have promised myself to take the pills for 2 months and then reevaluate. Pretty much everything in the pills is something that I have taken in the past to combat PCOS - just not at the same time so I have absolutely no problem taking them all and it makes me feel better knowing that they're at a "PCOS approved" dosage. I figure that after 2 months I'll either notice positive changes or I can get my money back - no harm done. However, with having started my period so quickly I'm pretty much sold on them for now. If I ovulate this month that will truly be a miracle and I will definitely continue to take them the full 6 months. If I make it to that point my plan is to start weaning myself off by taking half the dosage to see how my body reacts and to see if it really is a "cure" (which I'm not convinced of in the least). I figure it's a downward spiral when your hormones are out of whack and if I can use this system to get my hormones closer to where they're supposed to be hopefully I can get off the pills and maintain.... that's the goal anyway.

So anyway - hopefully this helps some of those wondering about the system. I do believe that some things work for some and not for others, but in my opinion, this system is worth a try. As mentioned, I'll try to continue to post my progress.

it is a lot of money but to me i think it is worth is some of my symptoms are nearly gone after only 1 month, chin hair and acanthosis nigracanis. as for the food my husband cooks me chicken for the week on sundays so when i get home my dinner is basically ready and i can make him whatever he is not picky and is happy with soup!!
It is a sacrifice of time, money, and effort, but we are willing to do that if it helps with our goal of babies!!!! I can honestly say I have not felt this good since 10/06 miscarriage and this product probably saved my marriage!! I have the best husband i could ask for but was not the best wife i was lazy, miserable and tired all of the time!
And personally for me I will work overtime cut back on whatever because i feel like living life to the fullest and now have the energy to do it!!

I was diagnosed in 1993 at the age of 15 with PCOS and was on BCP until I was 25. I hadn't had a period since so I started the insulite system in the beginning of 2008. Unfortunately in the five months that I was on the insulite system - it really did nothing for me. I feel like I wasted a lot of money. Since being off the insulite and the metformin which seems to cause my fatty liver to flare up - I have spotted several months in a row but the past couple of months nothing. I am concerned about that as well as the facial hair growth but I have found a system that is working for me thus far with my energy, depression and I do have pms symptoms every month even though I haven't had my period. I just order inositol to try with what I'm already taking.

Taking:
Morning: Woman's One a day
Flaxseed Oil 2000 mg
Vitamin C 500 mg

Night: Vitamin D3 2000 I.U.
B Complex

I am also looking into the Saw Palmetto (for facial hair growth, Wild Yam and adding Cinnamon to my diet.

I have done more research than I care to think about on the subject but I have decided not to let it control my life. I'm in the process of getting the extra weight off. Its slow going but I am feeling so much better with the daily exercising. I thought the insulite was going to help me but it didn't. I want to also suggest this book to anyone with PCOS - its been great reading and covers a lot of information on the recommended supplements as well.

"The ultimate PCOS Handbook: Lose weight, boost fertility, clear skin, and restore self-esteem" ISBN: 978-1-57324-371-1. I found it on Amazon.com.

Obviously what I am doing is not working completely but I feel so much better and I am going to continue to do my research and add supplements as I feel comfortable. At some point my husband and I would like to have children but its difficult with no periods and no medical insurance. I see the Womens Health and Wellness NP next week. I had been thinking about going back on the BCP for a few months but I'm not sure if I should or not. Any thoughts??

Default 2 + Months Insulite for Sale

I tried Insulite for about a month, and had a lot of things happening in life. I thought I could make my health a priority and keep up with the Insulite regimen, but didn't have much luck.

I think this is a good product and works well with those who can stick with the program.

I have 2 months worth of supplements that are unopened, and about a week or so worth of supplements in which the bottles have been opened.

I am will to sell them for $200 plus shipping. If you are interested please contact me via email re: insulite supplements and we can work from there. My email is blackmathahs@hotmail.com. First come first served.

I did insulite for one and a half months and I did not see or feel any real difference. I wonder why it works for some and not others.

Default Update

I wanted to post an update as I said I would. I faithfully took the system for about 6 weeks and I have to admit that although I had really high hopes I feel like it wasn't doing much for me. I did have a period within the first week of starting the system (which was definitely not coincidence) but I didn't ovulate that cycle (or have I had another period since). None of my PCOS symptoms eased up at all (no weight loss, no added energy, facial hair just as bad, etc.). I was honestly going to give the system a longer trial because I was hopeful having had a period but I noticed that I craved sugar more than usual and I started having "liver area" pain. I appreciate what mandylynne2 said about her fatty liver - I've never been officially diagnosed with fatty liver or any kind of liver problems, but based on conversations I've had with my chiropractor and symptoms that I have, I've had a feeling that I have something going on with my liver and I believe the insulite system definitely aggravated the condition. It scared me enough to stop taking the system earlier than planned. In the week that I haven't been taking it my liver symptoms have improved and my sugar cravings have lessened.

It is interesting why some things work really well for some and not at all for others, but as is par for my course - this didn't work out for me as I had hoped. I'm in the process of contacting Insulite Labs to request a refund. Hopefully I won't have any problems with that although I'm a little miffed that I have to pay to ship back my unused portion.

I still think the system is worth a try. With it seeming to work for some and with the 90 day money back guarantee you can't really lose, right?

Good luck!

just wanted to post my update i started system on feb 1, 2009 I have lost 30 lbs in 10 weeks and feel great i have had a regular period 2 months in a row HOWEVER I completely changed my entire lifestyle in that 10 weeks and one of the doctors called me from Insulite and did say that my results were remarkable, and i believe that is because i have completely commited to following the plan exactly. I eat the calories/protein/carbs/fat that a nutritionist at the gym recommended after she looked at the insulite diet and tried to tailor a plan more suitable for my life and my pickiness!! but I think every body is different and every person with this has different symptoms that affect them differently, but this does work for me and I am commited until june to lose as much as i can and et my body to a healthy place to start trying to conceive again!!!

Hi Amy,

I promise I'm not trying to be the devil's advocate, but I'm just curious... have you tried your current lifestyle changes without the insulite system before? I'm just wondering because I feel like when I've made serious changes in the past I've had similar results - fast weight loss, periods somewhat normalizing, less acne, etc. but I haven't ever been able to maintain either the strict diet changes or the resulting weight loss. I already exercise 4-5 times a week and although my diet could use improvement I don't feel like it's horrible. I was hoping that the insulite system would make up for what I was lacking in the diet department but the longer I took it the more I started feeling like the diet and exercise changes they want you to make would give me the same results that you're experiencing alone - without the pills. So then I really started to question the efficacy of the pills.

Don't get me wrong - I do believe that the pills can be helpful to some. I have pretty much taken everything offered in the pills but at separate times in the past so I know it's all good. I really feel like it's just my stubborn body not responding to them and I believe that if you're seeing great success that's no coincidence. I just wonder if you have tried the diet and exercise changes in the past without the pills and if you had similar results.

Hi Cridge

Well that is a good question and I may be all in my head but I don't mind that at all!!! lol!! However, About 6 years ago before I knew what having PCOS really meant I did go to the gym 5 days a week I followed the Dr Phil diet and I lost maybe 5 lbs in 2 months. And actually when I ran out of pills last month for 3 days I wanted to eat everthing in sight and just felt that nothing i ate was satisfying. So for me I think that the pills must regulate something in my body to make it work like it is supposed to, I do not think that this will work for everyone I am not trying to be the spokesperson I just feel like it is helping me do what I want to do! Also there are others on here that it has helped to become pregnant and that is my ultimate goal, and if it increases my chances by even 1% then i feel it is money well spent I will turn 32 in 10 days and I would like to have 2 children so I will do whatever I have to to help those chances.
It is ok to question the validity of the product I did when i was thinking about taking it BUT I AM THE FIRST PERSON TO SAY WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT WORTH IT OR WORTH IT OR GOOD OR BAD
I just think that this is a product that I was willing to try and have had great results with, there a re many others who did not

Don't get too excited with the clomid, it actually thins your uterine lining and increases chance of miscarriage when you have PCOS(my GYN failed to tell me this). I finally had luck with a fertility specialist using a gonal F pen.

Starting week 1 of Insulite my goal is to lose 25lbs and start having a menstral cyle w/o meds. I do feel an increse in energy already... but my god it is such a pain to take all those pills!! I feel like I'm taking pills every 2 hours!! Oh well, I'll suck it up if it's going to work!!

Ok so the pamphlet of Insulite clearly states that their product is not the cure for PCOS. What they explain is that it is there as an aid in regulating the hormones but it tells you quite clearly that you have to also work your way off of refined foods and sedentary lifestyle.

Personally, I've been on it for 3 days, count them, since July 27th, 2009, and I got my period today, not painful, not wierd dark spotting, but a real live period. I had a very clean lifestyle prior to this mind you. I lost almost 80 pounds on diet and exercise alone, getting down to 175 on my own but when I hit 175 my body stopped screeching on the brakes and let me tell you I fight every day with myself because the insulin resistance causes me to crave chocolate like I can't live another day without it. I can run 5 miles a day, I can do endless elliptical, but let me say that the day I started taking this stuff it was like my appetite just clicked. My portion sizes were far too big, I am eating far less chocolate and it actually nauseates me which is a good thing, and it's because this stuff regulates the body.

I have taken the herbs in different doses on different occasions to try to clean up my pancreas, liver, correct my blood sugar, kill my cravings, but this is the first thing that's helped me. I can understand why some of this would give someone a stomach ache. A lot of these herbs have that side effect, not that it's doing anything permanently damaging to your body, just that when you're out of whack for so long, you're not going to magically feel amazing during a detoxification.

I will personally say that my interest in this product is because I need a boost in getting my weight down so that I can permanently control the insulin resistance in my body and go on to live a life where I don't worry daily about PCOS. I think any amount of money to try anything that will work for you is worth it because taking care of yourself is essential! I am not taking it for life because that's not what it's meant for, just 6 short months hopefully to the rest of my life!

I have been TTC since 2007 and am currently doing accupuncture 1 x week and taking herbs. However, my cycle isn't getting regular. I ordered the insulite system and plan to take it this next cycle. Have any thin cysters taken this? Should I take fewer pills? I already don't have a large appetite. I don't need to lose weight but I do need major help with regulating my period and ovulating. Glad to see the preganacy success stories with insulite too.
