Default Where to start? Met vs. Provera/Clomid

I have been TTC for about six months and was diagnosed with PCOS a few months ago. Went to see the fertility specialist today and he prescribed Provera to start the period and Clomid to begin on Day 3 of period. Now I am wondering about Met and whether I should be on that too or instead of. Anyone else do it this way? What are people's experiences related to deciding which drugs to try?

Thanks for the insights!

Hi,
My OB started me on provera and clomid. I got pregnant on my 1st try. If I didn't get pregnant on my 1st try she was going to add the met with the provera and clomid. Unfortunately, I ended up in miscarriage, twins. I had to wait for 2 cycles before TTC again and she put me on just the met during this waiting period. Since being on the met I have started my period and O'd on my own. I will be TTC sometime in the next week or two, provided I O again on my own. I don't know if it's from just the met or maybe my body has changed from becoming pregnant the 1st time. Hopefully I will have better luck this next time. I hope the meds work for you. Good luck.
Tracy

Thanks for the insight. I'm so sorry about your miscarriage. I hope the next round is successful for you.

I would suggest getting on Met as soon as possible. There is research that Met even increases the effectiveness of Clomid and decreases your chance of m/c. I was on Met and Provera for a little over 3 months before my doctor would give me Clomid. I'm on my first cycle with 50 mg of Clomid and I ovulated for the first time ever.

Good Luck to you!
Tracy - I'm very sorry about your m/c
