I was just kinda wondering the pattern of everyone's acne... I still haven't been DX with PCOS just yet... but I've been battling the derm for years. I've tried Clindamycin, Differin, Yasmin, and monocycline..among a million other things. Nothing works. The yasmin made me feel deathly ill, so I haven't done any other hormonal stuff.....
anyway... I've had to put off my Gyn visit until December for insurance purposes. Does everyone have a separate dermatologist or does the gyn assist with this problem. Of course it's all hormonal. Mine is getting so bad out of hand, but nothing seems to help. I am a nursing student so being in people's face everyday is sorta getting the worst of me. I just want to hide under a rock.
My acne is really bad from my nose down to my chin and neck. Then my chest, back (all over), shoulders and upper arms. anyone else?!
i havent had it before but my skin is def getting really bad very quickly around my chin but doctor gave me some stuff seems to sort it out cant remember for life of me what thoug x

Since being on yasmin, for about about 1 month, my 'white' pimples started to diminish.. they scattered on my forhead, cheeks, nose, chin, neck, and back... but i would say it wasn't severe. My biggest problem is the black heads they seem to be stuck on my nose and cheeks and they will never go away

My acne is mainly on my face -- chin, forehead, nose areas. My acne had been incredibly better when on spiro and BCP. Since I'm TTC, I'm looking more like a teen with acne these days.

Hm...well, these days, it's mostly on my neck/jawline, but I have, and always have/will have (likely) bad blackheads on my nost and the cheek area right next to it...I also get it on my back, my chest, and occasionally on my upper arms.
I've been breaking out for so long, though, that I have scars on top of scars...and of course, none of the doctors ever even thought of PCOS (of course, this was what, 15 yrs ago+ now?)...I went through the tetracyclines (I'm immune now), bcp, a few other things I cannot remember--but no Accutane. Didn't want to risk any long term effects...
Right at the moment I have one small cystic type one right beside my nose (oh, joy!), and a scattering of larger white heads on my neck...
I had small breakouts on my forehead, but my bigger breakouts were always on my chin. I started drinking green smoothies though, and I no longer get those on my chin. Any blemishes that show up now are always really small and heal up quickly.

I've been on Accutane twice. I get acne everywhere, and I mean everywhere! It seemed to be effective for about 7 years, then I had my child and I needed another cycle.
Mine is on my cheeks and chin area. Some blackheads on my nose too. Occasional trouble on my back, but nothing serious.
I've tried every OTC available, Pro-Active, doxycycline, benzaclin, retin-a; now I'm on finacea. It's been 2 weeks and no improvement so far. Retin-A has been the only thing that came close to helping. But after a few months, improvement leveled off, so I'm trying other things. I am hoping to avoid Accutane. My acne is moderate and inflamed, but not cystic.

I get some acne on my face and neck.....but nothing unbearable. The biggest problem I have with acne is on my chest and stomach and my arms. Thank God I can cover my chest and stomach but my arms...it is so embarrassing im glad the cool air is coming so I can wear long sleeves.
I was just prescribed metformin today for the PCOS and I have read that it can help with the acne and weight loss. I hope this is true. Is there anyone out there who can confirm this? Does metformin really help for the acne and weight loss?
I was on Met before and it didn't help. But I was also pregnant most of that time, so maybe that was the problem.
Now I just started it again ,and am hoping it will help this time!

Okay this is one of the reasons I came to this message board! LOL I Have SEVERE blackheads and cystic acne in my armpits and between my legs. I HATE IT!!!! Does anyone else have it in those places and if so what did you get rid of it? I am going in for a hystorectomy in Jan 07 and am praying that this will help take care of it. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.
I've had acne since I was 11. It was at it's worst from about 13-19 when I went on 2 courses of Accutane. It worked wonders for me. I still have some acne on my jawline, and the odd ones on my face or back. I'm looking forward to see if the Met will help me out in this area as well.
