Once a day I'll have a thick, gummy/grainy, white discharge. It's about the size of a dollop of face cream, and I've been getting it for about a month now, usually in the morning.
If I was getting it all the time I would suspect it's a yeast or fungal infection, but it's just once a day. It has a slight metallic odor.
I was thinking maybe this is from my cysts dissolving? At least, that would be a nice surprise!
Does anyone know what this is?

I get it, but I've been getting it for a while and the fact that it just developed in the last month makes me think maybe you should look into it with your dr.

I started getting this over the past two years. DF refers to it as "the white stuff." Yuck. It does have a certain odor associated with it too--- but I have been tested for everything under the sun and I'm perfectly healthy (um-- except for the PCOS obvs).
I agree with the other poster who said you should get it checked out just to be sure. But I bet you are probably fine. And I have to add that since I went on the pill 2 months ago it is almost completely gone-- which leads me to believe that it is definitly hormone/cycle related.
Hope that helps!

If it were a yeast infection, it would itch in some ungodly way, trust me on that one.
If it was a bacterial infection it would probably itch and quite possibly stink as well.
Get Toni Weschler's book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" it has very good pics of normal cervical mucus (discharge), there's many different textures, colors, and amounts that are all perfectly normal. You'll never have to wonder if you're well down there.

I have the white discharge too but mine has a weird irritating feeling associated with it. It is also very watery too. I wish it would go away, it makes me feel like I have uterine cancer or something...
