Default Who diagnosed you?

I am curious how most people were diagnosed. Did the diagnose come from your ob/gyn? Primary care? self-diagnose?

thanks! tina

I was given a possible DX from the radiologist that read my ultrasound, confirmed by an OB/GYN.

OB who specializes in infertility made the call. However, my RE did not diagnose me with PCOS, so I'm a bit confused by the discrepancy.

I don't quite remember. My gyno first suggested it because I wasn't having periods and I had excess body hair. I got a blood test soon after, but I honestly don't remember if that blood test was ordered by her or an endo. I was still a teenager so my mom kind of took care of the details and was the first to push me to even go to an endo. My gyno kind of acted like it was no big deal.

GYN who specialty is infertility. Thinking of seeing an endo though just to confirm treatment course.

I took a magazine article to my GP who diagnosed me straight away, switched my BCP to Diane/Estelle and did bloodwork. I've never seen a specialist.

PCP sent me for bloodwork and vaginal u/s and then when it was all clear (or to her), she referred me to an OBGYN who diagnosed me.

To get on Met he sent me back to my PCP! ugh lol

Default my diagnoses

I had lived with many symptoms of PCOS since I was 12. I had no idea what PCOS was and docs always just put me on the pill.

Well when I got married and wanted kids is when I self diagnosed myself with it and then my first OB didn't care if I had it, he just treated me like I might and then when I switched my new OB told me that yes I do have it.

I got my formal diagnoses in summer of 2002. I have been living with it in control since 2004. Control I mean NO CYST!
