Default Who did you ask? and What kind of adoption?

Hello all; we are now needing to get our letters writen in order for the Social Worker to talk with us. I am not sure who to ask to write the letters for my husband. I am asking a previous boss because he is adopted and a woman who is my other grandmother; but isn't related to me by blood.

As for my husband he doesn't really have anyone like the not blood family member or someone that he knows, that knows him well, that was adopted.

We are doing a foster adoption, this is something that pulls at my heart strings!!

Why do they have to be adopted? I am confused? Are these for your reference letters?

We just had friends do ours. They don't have to be adopted to do it.

Please forgive me if I am wrong in what you are asking...lol

I wrote a reference letter for a couple who was adopting and am not personally adopted. They were adopting their second child and we had spent a few months with them as parents in very close quarters just previously, so they figured we knew them well enough and would be able to comment on their current parenting style too.

My husband and I are currently in the process of getting certified to do foster to adopt. We have to have references and just asked family friends.

Someone else asked this question, but why do your references have to be adopted? I haven't heard of that before.

Good luck.

The people that the references are coming from don't have to be adopted. My social worker just said it made a bigger impact. She actually just emailed me to see if I could talk DH into doing foster care and/or respite care and then do foster adopt. She said that other wise with their current case loads she would refer us to a colleague of her's that works in a private firm.

Bigger impact on who? Who is going to be reading it other than the case worker? That doesn't make sense? The bm's are not going to be reading it. That doesn't make a lot of sense.

The foster parents get to have some input w/ foster adoptions, also any lawyer and judge do too.

That still doesn't make sense on asking adopted ppl to be your reference. I only know of one, if that were the case then we would of been screwed.
