Unhappy Who feels gross after eating?

For the past three years I have taken Glucophage XR. Now, I do have a better response with my insulin but...I still feel terrible sometimes after eating a meal. I try to balance, but it seems anything high carb makes me miserable, sleepy heart pounding etc..somehow I think this is glucose related but more insulin related for me. I have a normal fasting glucose (80) and my insulin fasting was 5 when my doctor tested it three years ago. It is food that makes me feel so darn bad. Anyway, I just had my glucose taken again blood draw it was 80 as I mentioned but my endo sent me down for a donut and after that it was 157. He wants to add another med with Glucophage to get better control of my sugars but I want to talk with him first about doing that. I wouldn't mind adding a drug if I knew what his thinking is. I have a call in. Can anyone relate to this situation? I am sick and tired of eating! I hate food! Just curious if anyone has this problem.

Candace

P.S. I spoke with my endo today and he wants to add a drug called Glycet with the Glucophage XR. Anyone have any experience with this drug?

Is it specifically sugary or carb meals that make you feel this way?

It could be you have a sensitivity to that food and/or your body just doesn't like it. There is a lot of speculation to bad food reactions to sugar and yeast overgrowth too.

I have the same problems with sugar. I also have a cardiac problem relating to having a fast heartbeat. When I eat sugar or caffeine, I am totally set off with the fast heartbeat thing. I don't know why and I think the two may have different causes, but the sugar just aggravates my other condition, but in answer to your question, YES, I feel very yucky after eating anything that has more than very minimal carb/sugar content.
