I also conceived on Met along - 1500 mg, and I was on it for only 3 months total beforehand.

Good Luck

I got pg with DS last year on 1,500 mg of Gluco. I was on it for about a year and I am currently starting it again to try for one more!!! Hopefully it will work just as well as it did before. I am crossing my fingers!!!

I started Met Oct. 6 2003 and had first AF before the end of the month. I am now due in six weeks So thankful for our dr. knowing the symptoms I had and was able to diagnose me with PCOS!

I got pg on just met, although it didn't happen quickly for me - but it did happen! I was on 2000 mg for about a year and a half before I conceived. The kicker was finally starting to lose weight. About 3 months before I conceived, I started losing weight (for the first time EVER!). 20 lbs later, and I was pg!

There is absolutely hope. Someone asked this same question on the pg board recently and there were tons of replies.

Ok along the same lines, did any of you have to request the Met? I have had the tests and since they don't show I have diabetes Met has never been offered, would I be justified in just going in to ask for it? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks gina, are you the one I pm'd a while back? Just curious your info sounds familiar. Another question what kind of bloodwork was it that she finally allowed you to try Met?

Yes I am doing the low carb route it is working wonders for me. I have lost most of the weight due to low-carb but lost very little before that. After I began losing weight my DH joined in also and he has lost over 60 lbs. now too. Of course he has lost it alot faster than I have but at least we are both getting healthier.

I asked my Dr for the Met. Fortunately she's well-versed in PCOS (not too many Drs around here are) and knew all about Metformin and PCO. I have also been tested for diabetes and insulin resistance, and both were negative, but she gave it to me anyway for my symptoms and for TTC. As many people know, I started Met on Sept 03, and got a + HPT on Sept 29! It worked that quickly for me. This is after TTC for 5+ years, and experiencing only 1 chemical pg in all that time.

Met is my miracle med!

Wow you give me hope!!! Now if I can only get my Dr. to make it to work. I have made two appts. that have been rescheduled because she has called in sick. I have another sceduled for tomorrow but I don't know if she'll make it or not. I tried clomid a few years back with no success but I'm hoping with the weight I've lost plus the Met. that I won't need to try anything else.

Congrats to all of you who are preg. and have babies this way I hope to join you soon.
