I like all brands of whole wheat pasta. I usually buy whatever is on sale. I do not like Dreamfields pasta as it seems to get gummy. Barilla makes a great whole wheat pasta. What I tell most people to do is try different brands and go from there. You do not have to spend a lot of money to get a good pasta.

I think Healthy Harvest is what we get, but we eat about any brad. The speghetti seems to taste better than other cuts of pasta in wheat. Be sure to put in some salt while boiling the pasta since wheat seems to cling more than regular white flour pasta.

We get what's on special- either Healthy Harvest, or President's Choice blue label (which you'll only have if you're in Canada). I like the rotini better than the spaghetti, but the linguini is so thick and gummy it makes me sick, so I stay away from that.

It's best to go by trial and error. Try a box of this and a box of that, you'll soon find what works for you.

I wish I could remember the name of the whole wheat one I get - but I am sorry I can't. I find it by the shape and color of the box as stupid as that sounds. I will look.

Dreamfields pasta is what I keep b/c it is low carb however it is not the same as whole wheat. It is however low carb and double fiber.

I have found that the key to cooking whole wheat pasta is to READ READ READ the directions. Generally you should bring water to a boil and then add pasta bring to another boil and then cook al dente - otherwise the pasta does end up gummy.

I have found that if I follow those directions the dreamfields pasta doesn't taste any different than normal pasta. I still however like the actual brown whole wheat pasta every now and then because it has a flavor and normal pasta really doesn't.

I second Dreamfields. Hubby and I just started eating it and it's delicious.

It takes exactly like regular pasta but only has 5 digestable grams of carb per serving.

It is a bit pricier that regular pasta, though, but worth it to me.

and for those that cant stand whole wheat pasta like us...

try japanese "soba" noodles. they are made from buckwheat- lots of flavor, good for you, and without so much of that gritty mealy texture whole wheat pasta has.

DH also gets egg noodles, made of just egg, no flour. He really likes them.
