I just want to know
Why
To everything
There is a season
A reason
So,
Why?

Why do I have 4 children
But only hold one?
(not that I am not thankful for that one,
I am, God, I most certainly am)
But why does my heart have to ache
Have to be empty in 3 places
Where there should be faces?

What is the lesson?
I believe I missed that class.

I guess I really don’t need to know
But please, please God,
When I go to my rest
Please let me hold them
Just once, in my arms
As I have held them in my heart.
