Default Why can't he understand???!

I was recently put on blood thinners due to a blood clot in my lungs. Because of those blood thinners I am not allowed to shave using conventional methods, because if a razor cuts me my blood is too thin to clot. Let me explain a little better. I shave everything from my chin down (my chin, my jaw, my arms, my stomach, womanly regions, my butt, my legs and even down to my hairy toes.) So not to be able to shave is a nightmare for me. My fiance keeps telling me he doesn't see the reasoning in paying for an electric razor because they"re expensive. He got upset at me saying that I shouldn't be upset that I can't shave because he accepts me even when I'm all furry, so he doesn't understand why I wouldn't want to be intimate with him. He just doesn't get it, women are more apt to being intimate when they feel sexy and hairiness does not equal sexy. I haven't been allowed to shave since 10/10/09 so needless to say this is getting a little out of hand. If we don't invest in an electric razor soon, I'm gonna break down and shave the old fashioned way. I'm about to lose my mind. If anything I'd just like him to accept that this in important to me.

I would buy the razor, no matter what he thought.

This is very, very important to you and your self esteem. He doesn't need to understand it. He should accept it.

Buy the razor anyway!! You've been through a lot medically and something to make you feel better about yourself is a big deal...no matter what the cost!! I am also on blood thinners, so I know what you mean. I must tell you, I do use a razor and shave everything with it, but I have been on blood thinners since 2007, so I'm used to it. The only difference is that when I get a cut, it takes LONGER to stop bleeding. It's nothing that toilet paper and pressure won't fix.

Good luck girl! If you need some blood clot talk, send me a message!! =)

Possibly he rather likes seeing the hair growth that makes you distinctive. Or possibly he realizes that one electric razor isn't likely to do a good job on all these areas anyway. You should be able to get a men's-style battery razor for your face for $20 -- as for the rest, you might compromise and get a beard trimmer for another $20 -- if you need a closer finish you could then use the face razor afterwards. Electric razors aren't as versatile as blade ones and you need the right type for thejob. Don't try using a "women's" electric razor on your face -- and don't try using a "men's" electric razor on any growth longer than about 1/16" maximum.

Having said all that, I know that my DH really gets a kick out my bristles in the morning before I shave.

Default Success!!!

Thank you for the support ladies. I finally got my fiance to understand how important this was to me and he finally broke down and allowed me to shave. I wouldn't take no for an answer. I took my time, and while it took me about 2 hours to shave (which is about twice the time it normally takes) but no cuts, scrapes or anything and I'm completely smooth!!! Yay, I feel totally like a woman again and I'm enjoying showing my fiance the difference in my self esteem too, lol.

Use the NAIR for men. It works better than the regular nair for us. Use the razor as much as needed and at the same time you are shaving nair something while you are waiting for it to do the trick. Save time and blood!!

blessings!
