Question Why can't I find a good SYMPTOMS list?!

Hello everyone! I started 250 mg of Metformin yesterday and I feel a tad bit dizzy tonight. I took my dose for today around 2 PM. Anyway, does anyone have a list or a link of symptoms associated with Metformin? I am on a VERY low dose (because I don't have IR my doc wanted to start me out low) and I don't have any gastrointestinal/indigestion/nausea problems.

So another part of my question is, "WHEN should I ask my doctor to up the dose to 500 mg?" Mainly because the stupid pharmacy didn't cut my pills for me and I'm afraid I'm cutting them wrong. And also because I feel great and feel as though I could up the dosage. Should I wait at least a week or two before calling to ask?

Oh my with the dry mouth yesssss!!!! lol I found this to be a good website, http://diabetes.emedtv.com/metformin...e-effects.html , had the symptoms of metformin and the symptoms you can get with high or low blood sugar which is helpful since metformin can cause your blood sugar to drop if you don't eat on time. Do you eat when you take your Met? You can have a meal or take it with a glass of milk, also if you are dizzy after taking it like a few hours later it might be because you NEED to eat bc your blood sugar has dropped. I would say if you are feeling good, keep taking the 250mg for a week and then move up bc if you move up to fast you will definitely be able to relate with others with the far worse side effects! hehe not that everyone gets them tho. GL hang in there. If you can there are pill cutters out there and stuff I dont know if that is what you are using. HTH

I don't take met (yet) but if splitting the pills is a problem you can pick up a pill splitter at the pharmacy for super cheap (under $3). I couldn't live without mine
