Default Why do some people take there clomid on different days to others?

On all 3 of my cycles with taking the Clomid i have always been told to take it on days 2-6

Other people i see though take it on days 5-9

Why is this???

Doctor's preference for the most part.

However, many woman claim taking it earlier means more follicles, and taking it later means a more mature follicle. Don't know if there's any truth in this though.

Best wishes.

I have heard what the PP said. about the follies. I am not really sure either but it seems to make sense.

My doctor told me that is it has to do with when they want you to O. If taken earlier you will O earlier and vice versa. But I agree with AnotherDreamer, doctor preference.

Taking clomid on different days, is due to the length of your cycle (this is what my obgyn told me). Everyone has a different cycle length, therefore they take clomid different cycle days.

I am going to start on only 25mg's my first cycle for 6 days, on cd 5-10. I'm sceptic that such a low dose for 6 days will be effective, but we'll see! I'm not really sure of the logic behind it, I guess my Doc is pretty conservative.

I believe it is more less a doctor's preference. They say if you want more follies to take it earlier in your cycle an if you want just one mature follie to take it CD 5-9. Well the goal of your doctor is not to get you pregnant with mutiples but instead to get you pregnant with 1 good healthy baby bean so quiet a few of them do 5-9. Its just a personal preference though. I always did my clomid CD 2-6
