My TSH level is 2.854 and my RE said that before TTC he would like to see it be 2.5 or below. I didn't think to ask him why; is it just because it naturally increases with pregnancy, or does it make it harder to conceive?

TSH of 2.5 falls near the middle of the accepted reference range for that test. Dr. probably wants to make sure your thyroid levels have stabilized and are sufficiently high to support you and the baby early on. You can call him and ask for more info.

I have heard there is a greater chance of a miscarriage if it's not below that, some RE's even want it below 2, I believe.

Doing Low GI diet as of Sept. 07. DX with PCOS in Sept 07' as well.

Started at a size 24, now a size 14. My waist was 44", now it's 32".

I am on no medication, just diet and exercise.

Thank you all for your support and information! I encourage all of you to do a Low Glycemic diet!
