I'm 25 yrs old and always seemed to have a problems with my period. I'll get it every other month but in the last yr it's been even worse. I got my period for 4 months stright, so I went to the dr and she gave me some birth control that seemed to be working for a month until I got a terrible allergic reaction and had to be rushed to the hospital. My last period was April 29th. I have been put on 2 diffrent medications to regulate my body but it's not working! Anyone else have anything like that happen? My boyfriend and I have been trying to concieve for over 2 yrs now, and it's such a heartache to watch friends and family with their children.

So, I know I'm not the one you wanted to hear from on this because I have tried to explain it to you in the past but for some reason you don't want to listen to me, or maybe you just don't believe me. But I DO know about PCOS and I am hoping some of the other ladies will back me up on what I am about to say.
We don't know why we get PCOS, we don't know why some stop ovulating, and others don't. There is no cut and dry answer except that you HAVE PCOS and the lack of ovulation is a symptom of this syndrome. Because PCOS is a syndrome, you can have just some of the symptoms and not all. Like, you for instance have the lack of ovulation as well as the IR, but you don't have acne or unusual hair growth. Just like me, I do ovulate but I have cysts, IR and am overweight.
Also, just because you get your period doesn't necessarily mean that you ovulated that month. This is something I just learned, so it is possible that you have had this problem a lot longer than you realized because you weren't actively TTC.
There are tons of forums here, try the forums on medications and the Trying to Conceive forum because they will all have tons of answers for you, answers I don't have because I haven't been personally through that.
I really hope you find the answers you need and I am so glad you joined the site. I have been hinting around for weeks about it just waiting for you to ask because I didn't want to push it on you.
You know I am always here when you need me.

Well unfortunately this is a symptom of PCOS. Just because you have a period doesn't actually mean that you ovulated. I didn't have a period for 2 years and then I started to get them once every couple of months. I ended up seeing and endocrinologist for PCOS and they got me started on Avandia which regulated my cycles. I still was not ovulating even though I got a period for 3 months straight. Then, I was put on clomid and finally got pregnant.

The others are right. Clomid can help you ovulate. It works best in conjunction with Metformin.
BCPs don't fix PCOS, they just handle one symptom of it. Are you seeing a reproductive endocrinologist? They're best, especially if you're TTC.
