Unhappy Why me God? Why?

I don't know how to even type this, but i am desperate. So I went to they gyn today, and I asked about metformin. The first thing she said was it 's about 1000.00 a month. Well then, I asked if there was something she could do to start my AF(dx PCOS in 03/04, no AF since 04/04).
She said she felt something during my exam.
Oh God, I thought.
My endometrial layer is thick. It means endometrial cancer, but she's doing an ultrasound on Weds to see just how thick it is. Then after that, it's on to a biopsy of the endometrium.

Why God??? Why can't I just concieve like a normal person? I am 23. This shouldn't be happening to me. I even called off work today, my eyes are so swollen. I don't know where else to turn. I told dh to leave me. I am "broken", and he should be with a wife who can give him babies. Did I mention that I had a son at 18 and gave him up for adoption to a family who was waiting 8 years to adopt? I always thought I would have more when I grew up and was married, but it looks like my only chance for a baby is gone. I've lost hope in everything in my life.

Sorry sooooo long, but I don't know anyone who is going through this. If anyone else had to have this done, please let me know. I looked on WebMD, and it saiys that a D&C is required, but if that don't work, a hysterectomy is the next step.

Why me?

To give you a little bit of hope .. there is light at the end of the tunnel. A dear friend of mine had her endometrious taken care of and was told that as long as it is under control she would be able to conceive naturally. I know everyones circumstances are different. Know that we are here for you!

I also had a thick lining, my Endocrinolgist said that it may be caused by different times in your cycle. That was three years ago.
I went for my regular pap last week (Gyn) and we discussed my history of irregular periods, she suggested a biopsy of the uterine lining. It was no more painful/uncomfortable than a regular pap for me. I do have some spotting. I should get results soon. I am trying to be positive.
I don't believe that Metformin is that expensive. Have you priced it at pharmacies near you. My co-payment for my HMO prescription of Metformin is $10 for 100 days- it also list their cost. It says that the cost is under $20. I don't remember exactly how much, but I know that it was cheap. Metformin has helped all of my PCOS Symptoms. I hope that all goes well for you.

Your lining is thick because you need to have AF...Prometrium is not that expensive out of pocket, she should be able to give that to you to bring on AF. If you don't have insurance Metformin is also not very expensive. I think before my insurance, it's only about 30 dollars for a month supply. I hope you get some answers soon, I will keep you in my thoughts.

I pay $30 out-of-pocket for a 120-count bottle of Metformin. $1000?? Perhaps your doc. was thinking of something else.

I was an 'old maid' and got married when I was 35. My husband had a vasectomy when he was married before. After almost 5 years of infertility 1 1/2 being treatments including two surgeries for DH, 3 IVF's and I IUI for me I got pg with my son. I had him 2 days before I turned 40.

I prayed a lot then (still do) and begged God for a baby and asked Why also. You see all these young ones plop out kids just to get more money through public aid and it hurts. Most all of us know exactly how you feel. Most of all you need to relax. It's proven you can get pg. Our bodies change and our prayers are with you and all the ladies here that ttcing.

I pay $30 for a 30-day supply of Avandia (medicine like Met). That is after my insurance pays their share.

best wishes!
Tori

My Metformin was $30 as well.
I don't know what planet your doctor came from!!
Try another opinion if you are wanting to go on Metformin, because I really don't think it is $1,000 any where in the States. At least I hope not!!!

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. {{{HUGS}}} I hope you get good news after your tests.

$1,000 for Met is ridiculous and completely untrue. Before I had insurance, I paid ~ $60/month for mine. With insurance, my co-pay is now only $10. Your doc must have been thinking about something else.

Best wishes,
Debbie

Oh wow hun, that does NOT mean you have cancer!!! If she won't give you anything to bring on AF, ask for birth control and take a week of it, it works the same way as provera. You should get AF within 10days of stopping the birth control. Don't give up hope of having a baby, there is always hope. I was told when I was 13 that I would never have kids and I have 2, conceived naturally when fertility drugs didn't work!

Thank u everyone. I was really gonna give up....if it wasn't for you guys. Also, I was at work(at a nursing home) and i was asking another nurse who is a really good friend. She went through the same thing! and she has 2 beautiful children! She also said she'd kick my butt if i went to the drs alone...she will go with me(dh works 6 days a week 8:30 am to 6 pm).

Anyways...I had the ultrasound done on Weds., and she couldn't get a good pic so they had to do a transvaginal. It was ok, until she told me my uterous is tilted. It was a little painful. She told me the results would be in the next day, but when i called the dr she didnt have any word yet but she will call me when she does.
