I am so frustrated and confused, i was diagnosed with pcos a while ago, it seems like i always have to be on some pill, or have some kind of problem. despite diet changes to fruits and veggies and soy foods and excercize, I am still getting these symptoms. now i have a cyst on my left ovary, giving me pain. its about the size of a silver dollar. (I saw thru the ultra sound last week.) my obgyn doesnt want me to ever have surgries, because she never mentions surgery. am i supposed to have a surgery for that? also...i have been having periods every month? despite this cyst, and little cysts that are always there. my acne is now just little bumps all over my face and i havent got the hair thing yet, on face. my head hair is thick and my weight is 133 im 5 foot 7 . she wants me to go a pill called lowesterin24fe, but i dont want bad skin, ive read it can make zits worsen. also she suggested the ring, and ive heard death stories about that. i was on yasmin but it gave me heart palpatations and bruising. so i stopped the bcp, I have 2 children one 5 and 7. i was very lucky. it took 2 years of trying for the first and a year and a half for the second child... i dont want to be on a pill for thought of dying from blood clots, and the yasmin scared the stuffing out of me. with the palps and bruises and racing heart beat. what pill or treatment do you guys reccomend, any advice would be great. also is everyone on the pill? i have mircette in the cuboard from an old dr. should i try that? im so confused.
PCOS really, really, REALLY sucks! But try to stay positive. Just think, you could have a worse condition. As far as birth control goes I personally am not on it. I take metformin, which is the most common prescription for treating PCOS. I would suggest that you visit a Dr. who has experience with PCOS, an RE or gyn, whoever.

I'm on 1500 mg Metformin which has helped my oily skin, especially my oily hair. It can help even out hormones in some women (it sure has me). I also avoid soy and am on a lower carb diet (no potatoes, rice, white flour, table sugar, but lots of fruit and juice).
I have refused BCPs and continue to treat my PCOS with Met. and diet.
spossed to help with spots and period and regulation and things this is the second time the dr put me on it as the last time i struggled with it but he thinks its the pill for me
