Angry Why is my doctor not telling me anything?

Ok, so I new like a year ago that one of my ovaries was polycystic. the other one was normal. The doctor sais that may bring problem in conceiving a child but since back then I wasn't interested in conceiving, I didn't worry.

I just went to a check up here where I live in Dubai. And the doctor said I had the same problem, on both ovaries and was surprised because that I get my menstrual period every month regularly.

She failed to tell me all the other things about the syndrome, like the overweight problem, the risk of diabetes and heart disease. I'm just in disbelief. I did the research only.

Thank god for the internet.

My main sympton and I dunno if this is normal symptom for PCOS, i get really blue for no apparent reason a week before my period comes. It's a trully miserable mood, and very *****y as well.

everyone has dealt with this, tell me what alternative things are there to do?

{HUG} I just wanted to say if you're not happy with your doctor, you should think about switching if you can. Although, maybe your doctor isn't well-educated on the specifics of PCOS. Kat has quite a few piece of informatin that you can print out and take to your doctor.

I'm sorry you have to do all the research yourself, but at least this way you do have good information.

I had the same problem (sort of). I had an ultrasound, and when I went back for the results the DR was like "oh, you have PCOS"...That was it, no explaination, I didn't even know what PCOS stood for! He couldn't even tell me what my blood tests results ment! I wanted to shake him! I got a new DR, and so far I like him. I would love to find one that really made me feel like they knew what they were talking about when it comes to PCOS though! Maybe one day...

Welcome...

I think just about every woman on here has had to change Dr's at least once to get the help that she needed.

As far as feeling blue and all just before your flow I used to get that too...but as my cycle regulated that stopped happening. Now I just get some cramping and it isn't as bad as it used to be.

Hang in there it's going to get better.
