Question Why the spotting??????????

I have been on dianette since our 6wk check (ds is 10 1/2mths), and since my last pill break/ period 2 wks ago i have had spotting for a few days each week. I have not been ill or missed one like it suggests in the info book, so why?, and does this mean i should change it or that its not workin properly?. I was on dianette years ago befor we were ttc and had no probs with it. I cam not keen to change it as it is the only pill that helps contorl my hideous acne. I am also not suited to 2 other kinds because of previous bad reactions ( migraines and chest pains) Can you ladies offer any advice?

I have been told by a few docs that spotting is not an indication the pill isn't working for BCP purposes... but I am not sure just what causes the spotting to occur, especially when you have been on that pill for a while with no probs.

I'd wait and see what happens on the next pack or two before deciding to switch pills, if you were otherwise happy with that pill.

Default Me too!

I have been spotting also! I haven't had a baby, but I have been on Lo-Ovral for over a year and a half and then last month, I had slightly discolored discharge ALL MONTH! I didn't think anything of it at first because it was after my period, but then it continued throught the entire month. I don't think it is happeneing this month. It was soo slight I could only notice it if I wore white underwear. I chalked it up to stress, because I moved last month. Please post if you hear anything else about what could be causing this. I am not too keen on switching pills either. Take care--Lisa
