This may be a strange question...but here goes........
I've been noticing in the past few months that if i get a blister, scratch, anything on my lower legs or feet that it takes FOREVER to heal!!!! For example, I scraped the very back of my heal well over a month ago and the scabs are still there - getting better, but ever so slowly!!! Then, I have a blister on each foot in the same spot (because of a pair of flip flops that weren't broken in yet...lol). Those have been there for about a month and the same thing...they're getting better, but won't heal. Then....I had a blister on my "big toe" and it started getting infected so I did the whole soaking in episoms salt and neosporin and stuff....it has healed, but now I have a lovely scare. Why all of a sudden (in the past few months) have my feet turned on me!? Last time my doc checked I wasn't insulin resistant or diabetic....so what other explanations can ya'll come up with!?
Are you diabetic? Diabetics have alot of problems with their feet.

thats all I can think of...
maybe you're diabetic or at least IR,
Quote:
Damage blood vessels throughout the body. Damage to the vessels that carry blood to the feet and legs decreases blood flow to the feet. Small cuts, sores, and even ingrown toenails take longer to heal and are more likely to become infected because of the decreased blood flow to your feet.
All my wounds, blisters scratches take long to heal and the only thing my doc has come up with is chemical exposure or intake....but still no real explination why

That is a number 1 sign of being diabetic? Are you? I would go get it cheecked out by your doctor.. It could lead to more serious things... My mother in law had the same problem and ended up getting gange green in her toes, well they had to amputate them.. So scary.. She thankfully is all better now.. Now that she knows she is a diabetic..

I am IR and if I get a cut or something on my feet,, it takes ages for it to heal! Just take extra special care of your feet!! *hugs*

Oh you guys need to be really careful with that. Like the above post if it gets to infected they might have to amputate. Find a different doctor who will help you out. Sorry I don't have that problem as of yet so I have no solutions except taking care of your IR problem.
Sincerely,
Elaine
