Since I've had PCOS after coming off dianette I've noticed that I now have a slight Widow's Peak (hope that's the right name for it), where the hairline comes down in the middle of the forehead and forms a slight point. I don't really have a problem with facial hair apart from a bit of peach fuzz on the top lip, and I was wondering whether anyone else has this? Just curious...
If I remember my biology classes correctly, you were born with the widdow's peak, it is an inherited gene. Either you have it or not, just like the ability to curl your tongue.

That's funny that you mention it because I used to have a very deep widow's peak but since my pcos-induced male pattern baldness it has vanished and I wish for the day it would come back!! I never thought I would ever care to see it again.
I have one and ALL 5 of my siblings do however neither one of the parents do. Hmmm?

that is what I always understood it as....attached and unattached ear lobes, the tongue like you mention and the nerves in your wrists.

rfordin505, funny you said that all your siblings have one and your parents don't. One of them would have to have one, though it might be very small, or like austinmandi said, her's went away when she lost some hair. Having a Widdow's peak is a dominant gene.
The links above are interesting to read, it brings up some other inherited traits without going into all the detailed info about genes.

Those were really neat websites. Beats me on my parents tho. The kids all have different variations of the widows peak maybe it has disappered from one of them and they don't remeber it. Very intresting stuff tho. Thanks

Chuckle, chuckle, yep, it can happen, that you start blaming a lot of stuff on PCOS. But some of the stuff that happens to us, happens to lots of other people as well and is the result of, gasp, merely being human!
I, for example have a dramatic widow's peak. Not the result of PCOS.
However, the fact that my hair is falling out and my hairline, and my widow's peak with it, have disappeared, is DEFINITLEY the result of PCOS!

Wow, thanks everyone. Yes, I remember now that it's something you have or you don't. I wonder why mine has become more prenounced? Maybe my hair's getting darker. Thanks for the links Lana, very interesting. Freckles.... ahhh! Why couldn't I have inherited those? I've always wanted freckles!!!
