I am wondering for those cysters whose PCOS symptoms got better over time, or those who have lost a dramatic amount of weight, has your excessive sweating gone away too, or been greatly reduced?
I've only been recently diagnosed with PCOS (since June of this year), and have just recently introduced a healthy diet and exercise into my way of living. I'm already experiencing great results from these changes, as I've already ovulated on my own, got my first real AF in almost 6 months, my acne is almost gone, began losing weight finally (instead of gaining), and have increased my muscle mass. All big accomplishments for me. However, the excessive sweating really gets to me, as it is very obvious and way excessive. Simple tasks like getting ready to go out, or doing my dishes leaves me drenched and dripping in sweat even when I have the AC blasting. It's even worse in the rare occasion that I go out to dance. When I do dance, I can't dance as much as I used to due to the embarrasment of the sweat. I've only been experiencing this since early this year, when my PCOS symptoms spiraled out of control before I was diagnosed. It is very embarrasing, and other people notice and have made comments about it. I'm hoping that eventually this gets better over time!

I think there was a thread a while back about a deoderant that works extra well for us. Mine was always just under my left arm (odd some of us cysters have the sweating more on one side of the body). I think Kat mentioned recently that it can be allergy related, also. She suggested an air purifier and Claratin-D I think. My hormones go back and forth so much that I go from being cold natured, to burning up. There are some other things that can cause excessive sweating. You might want to do a google on it as a symptom.
I used to have HORRIBLE daytime sweating, and turns out it was due to the meds Rx'd for my pcos. The bcp's were the worst. I wrote to several doctors doing pcos research, and they said it would take nearly a year for the sweating to subside after stopping the meds. After that I would only have it rarely, and another doctor told me it was 'anxiety' hoping 'not' to sweat which was triggering it. I think he was right, as I can stave that off now, with stress breating exercises.
Speaking of exercise...the more fit you become the sooner, and more profusely you will sweat, too. I sweat a LOT when I workout...
Jash is right about the night sweats...Claritin-D and the air purifier made those go away.
You should document when the sweating happens, and talk to your doctor about it...

OMG! I cant believe others have the same problem! I would sweat so much that Id have to run into the toilets and dry my armpits with the hand air dryer.
It was so uncomfortable. I remember it snowing outside and I was still sweating buckets. I was freezing and sweating. Acupuncture has really helped with this a lot and I dont sweat that much now.
I can say that it was worse after I stopped the pill and also when my PCOS gets bad I sweat some.
I have read that PCOS causes sweating because of the hormone imbalance and also the male hormones too.

Is it possible that spiro makes the sweating worse? It would make sense since it is a diuretic. I don't recall sweating this bad before I had PCOS when I was in high school. I didn't take my spiro for almost two years in college, but I still had a sweating problem. I've been on BCPs and spiro for seven years now. I hope when I lose weight it will stop. My head and face sweat the worst. I don't even have a problem with the pits, but it's my face and head that are bad. Very embarassing and gross.
I used to have terrible night sweats and hot flashes before I was diagnosed. Sweaty all the time! That all stopped within days of me starting Yasmin. I believe my sweating was caused by my hormones.
I don't sweat anymore hardly at all! I have other issues with PCOS but this issue is now in my past.

Yes, mines is worst on my face and chest area. Also underneath my breasts too. Thus, it's not like I can use an antiperspirant there, but it's so much that no antiperspirant is really conna be able to curb the perspiration. I am no longer taking any medications for the PCOS. I stopped the Met and the Yasmin, as I was able to control symptoms on my own and the Met was giving me weird hypoglycemic-like symptoms. So, now I'm taking a natural route to treating my PCOS without medications. But yes, Kat is right, being more fit does make you sweat a lot quicker, and since I've been working out, I notice that this is indeed the case for me. This, however, is not going to keep me from working out!! I guess the sweating is due to the hormonal imbalance, since via my labwork I see that my testosterone levels are quite high. I'm assuming that once the hormones get more balanced out, the sweating will decrease.

Its not just the sweating but the B.O that really upsets me! I bath every single morning and sometimes evening too, and still stink under my pits. Does anyone else have this problem

Hey girls it is called Certain Dry. My sister in law says it is fantastic...maybe you all could try it. We are from Canada though so hopefully you will be able to find it.
I have the sweating too..mainly on my face and head also..its horrible!
I was sweating ALOT more on my anti- D's also, but since stopping them, its nowhere near as bad...
Its horrible... I hate it...I guess for me it doesnt help that I have ALOT of weight to lose and have been non active with exercise since being pregnant.... mummy needs to get out walking more!!

My sweating has decreased quite a bit recently, however I still get a damp forehead despite what the weather is doing. Not sure if it is my PCOS meds (spiro and met) or anti-depressants to cope with my depression and anxiety (citalopram & occasional diazepam).
A couple of days before a big event I use Andryhol Forte which is an aluminium prep for excessive sweating of the hands, feet and pits (the 3 places I don't actually sweat!). I use a little on a cotton wool pad and sweep over my forehead. It stings like hell and if I use too much makes me go red but it works really well. I can feel hotter than usual though as obviously you sweat to cool down. Under my boobs and tum I use a non-talc body powder to help feel more comfortable. Oh the joys of PCOS never end do they, boy I feel special right now

I too am terribly sweaty. I went to a concert last night and was just dripping everywhere - SO embarrassing!
For armpits, the only deo that works for me is Mitchum gel - NOT the solid. I've tried Certain Dry, doesn't work for me. I still sweat some with the Mitchum, but not as bad and I don't smell.
The worst for me is the rivers of sweat running down my back and my butt crack (TMI, sorry), and under my breasts. I wore deo. under my breasts for a long time, but it clogs my pores and irritates me.

Where can I find this Andryhol Forte?
