I know some of you would think i should post this on the "Diet and exercise thread" but i think this is more related to thin cysters...
Ive been reading about the benefits of peanut butter and woz wondering wether i shud add it to my diet in order to gain back some of the weight lost by metformin.
Im not following a certain type of diet, but im learning slowly what i shud avoid and im trying to practice a healthy way of eating.
I haven't really eaten much peanut butter before, since its not that popular in my region, but im aware of its popularity in the USA. I think i could get used to the taste and even like it if its healthy, and could be a great solution when i run out of ideas for a quick healthy breakfast, snack or dinner.
I found 2 articles supporting my idea, it talks about having 1 serving (2 tbsp) on a wholemeal toast: http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20041...-healthy-punch
So, starting tomorow, im going to look for a healthy brand of PB and will go for it. Anyone else out there eating PB and happy about its benefits? I know its not a new invention, but believe me, if u were as picky as i am, u wud understand how difficult it is to eat breakfast and dinner. Some of the things i don't eat are: cheese (yes all kinds), any cold cuts like smoked turkey, smoked chicken, smoked salmon (the smoked part is my problem), most processed meat like sausages, hot dogs, pastrami..thats besides any type of swine or mutton.
Im not allergic to any of this, but they just don't smell or look appealing to me. Im also not a vegetarian, on the contrary, i love seafood, grilled beef, veals, poultry...
Almost everyone around me makes me feel like an alien when it comes to food. I don't know if im also an alien here in this forum??
All the best,
Onyo

I don't know the answer to your question, but when I was on a low carb diet and got pregnant before, I did eat peanut butter. I wasn't eating it for any particular benefit though, just because I liked it and it was low in carbs. I have weird taste in food too, but sounds like mine is the opposite of yours! I only like cheese, meat (mostly processed) and sugar (so pretty much only unhealthy stuff!) Good luck!
Hi TrishainAZ,
Thanks for your reply...i have started to eat it yesterday, and it makes a good alternative to many other unhealthy food that may come to my mind.

HI- I got your private message, but when I tried to reply apparently this message is too long for a "private message" Hope its okay that i post it here.
Well, this time I was on 2000 mg. I have just taken whatever my doctor prescribed at the time. Each time the research was different and he has been quite up to date each time (I think) and we've gone with that. The really high dose was difficult so I was glad to be lower this time. My doctor also believes in having me stay on met the whole pregnancy (to decrease chance of miscarriage)and I did for my other two and will this time. I think most docs have them stop after the first trimester, but I trust him and I was sucessful before, so I'm not willing to change anything this time! I lost about 16 lbs the first time I was on met (109 lbs)and got even skinnier the second time (107lbs) and I was on low carb those times too. I haven't been as strict low carb this time and have lost some weight but not as much (I think I am probalby about 113 lbs now... but my scale isn't very accurate). My normal weight is probably more like 118 or so. (I'm 5'4.5"). I was at my highest (125) when I was trying to conceive my daughter and I only had my period about 4 times that year. For my son I conceived on my first ovulation after my daughter was born (so no period between kids). After my son was born and I resumed menstrating, my cycles were relatively normal around 35-40 days long with no medication. I think that I am eating better and exercising more and my symptoms are getting better. I have a very mild form I think. The met seemed to take almost exactly the same amount of time to work for all 3. If you look at my signature, you'll see I started Met in April 02, had my daughter April 03, started met in nov. 03, had my son nov 04, started met in dec 06 and will have this one in Dec 07. Each body is different in how long it takes, but mine definitely seems to have a pattern. I don't have much for advice, except the old standard that most of us hate to hear.... try not to stress. Another coincidence with all 3 is that I finally got pregnant when I focused on something besides pregnancy. (You can search my old posts for more details about that... especially the thin cysters ttc threads) Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Oh wow! Thank u so much for your reply!
First it gave me so much hope in metformin, after almost giving up. I know that each person is different, but i think i should give it some more time, and maybe i should experiment a little with the doses. The strange thing that happened with me woz, it did work the first month, when i got my Af after 38days plus i felt a difference in my facial hair. Im also sure that i O'ed in that cycle, coz i felt some Af type of pain around cd 18 and DH and i stupidly thought it cud be harmful to bd with such pain, so we lost the chance. Could it be that your body starts getting used to the dose, therefore u shud increase it gradually? I don't know what happened with me, but its realy confusing. Its been almost 6 months now, and i feel no progress. Although the last 2 months my doc has been adding some bcp to reduce some androgens before we go for the ovulation induction.
Is it true that thin cysters are more at risk to face hyperstimulation? Maybe i shud post this as a thread and see what others will say.
Anyways, thanks again my dear, and good luck with your pregnancy!
