Have any of you ever seen a dr about Wilson's Temp syndrome? Basically has all the symptoms of hypo with normal lab results. You can read more at http://www.wilsonsthyroidsyndrome.com/
I'm wondering if this is a legitimate diagnosis? I have every symptom, just about, of hypo but normal labs. My dr won't listen to me. So, I decided that if the drs won't listen, then I'd have to find an answer myself. I started with Prescription for Nutritional Healing which mentioned wilson's.
Also, if you have been dx'd with it, have you tried their supplements and have they worked? I'm not sure if this should be cross-posted in the natural remedies forum or not. Guess I'll see what the imput is here first. It sure would be nice to know what's wrong with me. My PCOS symptoms have always been characterized as 'mild' (mild to whom???) Anyhow, would appreciate your imput!
Karen what are your #'s when they are checking your Thyroid? Let me look at your numbers, have they been checking your Free T3 and Free T4 plus TSH?
I have done research on WTS, they show you how you can check yourself and see if you might have it. What are you BBT's you have to take them 3 times aday and see what they are.
What your Dr considers normal may not be normal blood work for your thryoid my feeling is just because you numbers are good does not mean you are well.
Share your numbers and I will look up some info for you.

You can have normal lab results and still be hypothyroid, it depends on what your doc is looking at. For 3.5 years of me feeling crappy, I had test results within the normal range. They even removed my thyroid when my tests came back in high end of normal range (they removed it because it was growing quickly). Your doc really should consider the entire pic and not just the test results. Have you asked for a thyroid sonogram?
Also, I have heard one way of testing your thyroid function is to take your temperature everyday while in bed in the morning, with a low temp meaning hypo.

You know, I don't know what the #'s are. I do know they did the t3 and t4 though. I will ask for a copy of the labs when I go in to have my liver function tested (probably tomorrow). If you don't mind, I'll get back to you with that info once I get them. I did order some of the products on the website that I originally quoted - one for thyroid and one for diabetes. I didn't feel like they could hurt any.
Hopefully, I will get those numbers to you soon! Thanks!
Great now just be sure that they are testing FREE T3 and FREE T4 and not just T3 and T4 those are two different kinds of test. I will be waiting for you post on your numbers.
The temp thing will work, BUT you have to take it under the arm at 9a.m, 12 noon, and 3 p.m and you do that for a week and average your temps to see if you have low body temp.

I didn't get to the dr yesterday so I guess I'll try next week when I am out grocery shopping (both are nearly a 40mile drive so I go once a week). i'll be sure to post #'s when I get them adn I'll also starting doing the underarm temp as well. Thanks for your willingness to help. My stuff shipped today from the Wilson's website so I should have that in a few days as well.

That is so great that you are being so involved in your healthcare! I am a huge advocate for asking questions, getting answers, being treated like a HUMAN, and getting second-third-fourth opinions until you are at ease. I will never see a doctor who doesn't listen to me and my questions. You know your body better than anyone!
When I was first diagnosed as hypo, my TSH was over the top (well over 100). When I started taking Synthroid I came back into the "normal range" but never really felt quite right. Turns out I had several nodules on my thyroid that were cancerous...not meaning to scare you, but has your doctor felt your thyroid to check for nodules? Less than 10% of all thyroid nodules are cancerous, but nodules can throw you out of whack. Just a thought to check for them.
