My Mood: Points: 26,363.38 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 26,363.38 | *sigh* I woke up super early 3 am. Decided since I was awake I'd try some breakfast. I made some mashed potatoes because they're soft and easy on my agitated tummy. I started doubling over with those pains again and it lasted bout 35 mins or so. I'm going to call my surgeon first thing as soon as their office opens unless it gets worse or doesn't ease up with this Bentyl pill. This hurts like heck!!

My lowest post-op weight was 150 pounds, but b/c of having both of the boys I gained some back & haven't dropped these last 15 pounds YET. I'm still working on it!
Misty - Hope you are ok.

Which means headache or fever means taking aspirin. Can't do that after an RNY, but you can after a band. Longer hospital stay after an RNY, but it's becoming do-able (matthew finally has RESPITe care coming). So I'm torn. Also I think the Band isn't as good for someone with reflux (gerd), I have been on meds for years for that. I miss one pill and boy everyone watch out. I think I'll probably go with the RNY, because my dr's want me to loose it fast... will help the diabetes faster, and the back. I'm just not sure. I guess I'll see what the dr's say.

Points: 208.19 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 208.19 | Hey, I didn't know where else to post this (if there is a place)...
Has anyone had really irregular periods (AF) since wls? About 4 months after my lapband my period came back and it keeps coming back (for the first time in my life I have had it more than 1 time in a year).
Anyway. I have bled 55 days this year and I have AF for 2 weeks, then off for 2 weeks. I just started again today and it ended just 10 days ago.
I have already put a call into the dr...but they can't see me until 2 weeks. This is a new dr because I just moved a year ago and don't have a new ob/gyn yet.
Any thoughts?

My Mood: Points: 17,317.48 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,317.48 | Jennifer - Thanks for thinking of me... Bad thing is I'm a mental nutcase right now and it could be PMS or a yes... I'm sort of hoping the moodyness is PMS because I don't think my husband will survive this long term.
Misty - *hugs*
Teri - I would talk to your surgeon about the asprin thing. Due to my back problems I was told that I could take NSAID's I just need to let them know when I'm doing it, and that taking them long term would be a bad idea. They let me know the no NSAID's rule is a general rule, and does not apply to everyone, each person has a unique case where things can be worked out. You might be one of those people.
Fresh - I wish I knew what to tell you. I know Kristy at some point said that the months following WLS has our fat releasing a great deal of estrogen (I think it was her and thats what she said?). Meaning our periods can be pretty out of whack. I would just wait and see what the doc says....
Gemini - *hugs* You'll be in my prayers hun. Just make sure to sip your water and walk as much as you can - even if you don't want to. We'll see you on the losing side!
Yolanda - weird moods seem to be going around lately. *hugs*
Elcmoon - I guess I could test today as it's the day my period is supposed to show up - but I'm going to give it till Sunday. I'm pretty convinced I'm not pregnant it's just that hope that I am.
Kristy - how is work treating you and the bean?
I hope I got everyone. It's only 10am and today just feels like it's going to be crap. My back hurts my head hurts. I spent about two hours last night bawling over stupid stuff, and I swear I couldn't stop. My poor animals thought I had gone nuts (which I probably have). I took a bath to try to relax and the puppy didn't seem to like it - she made it very clear that I am not supposed to relax in the tub - she barked and slapped me with her paws when I put a rag over my eyes and laid back. A few points I think if she could have she would have jumped in after me. Anyways ladies I hope everyone has a great day!

My Mood: Points: 133,936.43 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 133,936.43 | Hi all. Work treated me pretty good...the nurses were glad to see me back. The doc that saw me that night when I had the most bleeding was also there and asked how things were in a descrete way. I told him that it was done and that we've seen cardiac activity twice. He was glad to hear it...he rocks. I'm so glad he was on that night. Anyway the weather here is finally calming down...it was 100-105 over the weekend. Today...just 85. Works for me!
Misty - I'm sorry they haven't called you back. If it gets that bad...you know what to do...head off to the ER. (((((hugs))))
Tammy - Girl...the only way to really know is to POAS...
Teri - Definitely talk to a surgeon about your tylenol allergy. I do know that my surgeon ok'ed a short term NSAID use for me but ONLY if I also take Protonix at the same time to prevent ulcers and pouch irritation.
Fresh - I think it's time to see an OB/GYN about your cycles. Bleeding that much can make you anemic...are you taking iron in addition to your vitamins? It was me that said that estrogen is stored in fat and is released when we loose the weight so that could be part of it...but better to be checked out by an OB/GYN at this point. Just to make sure that you don't have something else going on in there...KWIM?
Ok...off to get ready to run some errands.

I think I was just stressed this morning when I went to the bathroom and was like, "not again!!!".

My Mood: Points: 1,610.49 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,610.49 | Well... today is my last (pre-op) day for the CL diet! I was excited about surgery anyway, but since starting this horrible diet 2 weeks ago, I'm actually looking forward to going to the hospital and having surgery so my almost constant hunger will go away for a while! I will say that I'm having one of my first true proud-of-myself moments though, since I didn't cheat on this diet even one time. Which is also a first, so I know that I am committed to taking this huge step!
Quick question for the post-op ladies... if you did pre-op measurements, what did you measure?

TDoern - I am new here. I've lurked for awhile but finally made the decision to go thru with WLS.
I am in the waiting for my records period. United Healthcare wants 5 years of history, and my surgeon's office won't send anything to them until they have this. I've done everything on my end, so now I'm just waiting to hear that they have all the records and can send the letter of medical necessity. I really want to get it done! Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
How long on average did it take you all to get approved?
