I'm paraphrasing here from the section on PCOS in her book on ways to treat:
- Embrace yourself as a fertile woman and make sure you havent internalized negative images of womanhood
- Be aware of your emotions, record them in a journal, look for links to the cyclical world around you (seasons, tides, moon cycles)
- Expose yourself to natural light as much as possible to allow the hypothalamus and pituitary glands a better chance to regulate ovulation more naturally
- Diet--Low-fat, whole foods, vegetarian
Has anyone tried these? This looks like more of a holistic approach, but i'm thinking that even if i had a perfect psyche (and who does lol) that i'd still have pcos. I'm sure that these are all healthy things to do anyways, but i'm not seeing that they specifically target pcos. I've never had really irregular cycles so maybe that's why i'm not 'getting' Northup's methodology.
