Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to recommend two really amazing doctors. The first is my OB/GYN, Dr. Morgan LLoyd in Houston, Texas. The second is my RE, Dr. Luis Rodriguez. I saw Dr. Rodriguez for the first time today and I have never been so impressed. He wasn't judgemental about my weight and really seemed to have all the answers to our questions. He didn't hurry us at all. I have never been so pleased. I have private insurance, which is usually a big pain, because no one wants to take it. They didn't charge me today; just said they would file and notify me of my balance. Also, the Dr. told me that he had never not seen someone because of insurance. He said he would see me for free if he had too. It blew us away. He is next door to Womens Hospital on Fannin in Houston.

Hi Melanie, I am so glad to hear that you have found a Doctor. Both docotors that I have seen was a major waste of my time and money. I was hoing to find someone much closer to me but will however go downtown if necessary. Have you heard of a doc in The Woodland's???
Another really good obgyn is Dr. Kimberly Bobo and a great RE is Dr. Valdes. Whatever you do, do not go see Dr. Heard as he is very insensitive and repeatedly made me cry with disappointment and hopelessness. Dr. Valdes is realistic, but she is still very encouraging.
...a great RE is Dr. Valdes...Dr. Valdes is realistic, but she is still very encouraging.
Ditto for her partner, Dr. Schenk. She's very matter-of-fact, but sensitive and encouraging. I always feel better after seeing her. She isn't pushy at all, either...just gives you your options, tells you about her typical results with each, then listens and goes with what you choose. She'll be aggressive in treatment, but only if that's what you want.
I too want to throw in my adoration for Dr. Schenk. I think she is wonderful. I also like her nurses (which you see most of the time anyway), they are very skilled in all of their procedures and having a calming sense about them.

If you live down in the Clear Lake area, Dr. Joy Leblanc is a wonderful OBGYN. She always make me feel so comfortable and not like she's in a hurry to get to her next patient. She sits down and chats and explains everything. She also specializes in high risk pregnancies so I was very lucky when I had complications during delivery of my son to have her right there.

Wow, this has been a very helpful thing. Here's a doctor I DON'T recommend: Dr Carlos C Ramos at the Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates, P.A., 7900 Fannin, Suite 4000. I have to admit, he's very pleasant to look at, but I did not like his condescending tone. He quickly explained the menstrual cycle to me, even though I made it clear I understood what was happening after he gave me my diagnosis over the phone. And immediately he wanted me on metformin - the quick fix. I asked if losing weight and managing my diet would make any difference and he plainly stated "no, metformin is pretty much your only way". I have been, since, looking for a second opinion but don't want to spend money on another pill-pusher. Also, if you are looking for an acupuncturist, DO NOT go to Dr. Ray Luk. He smokes in his clinic and doesn't explain anything, and his treatment does nothing. He told me that in three months I should have a more regulated period but all I saw was a smaller balance in my bank account! Alright, that is all for now. Great to be part of this group, this is my first posting!
i see that there is alot of dr in houston im like the other woman i hope to find one in the woodlands but if i have to go in to houston i will the one i have now in the woodland suck her name in dr. tracie turner.
I wanted to respond to travelgal's posting and strongly recommend Dr Rodriguez on Fanin with TIRME. I have PCOS conceived my daughter under his treatment and I cannot begin to describe how wonderful he is. I have since then moved to California and am trying to conceive my second child here. The doctors I am seeing here are making me want to go back to Houston just to get treated by Dr. Rodriguez.
I saw him for close to a year before I conceived my child. I never had to wait more than 10 min for an appointment in the whole year that I saw him and he always did the ultrasound (Unlike other places where any available dr would do it). He is very careful with his tests. Every cycle in addition to an ultrasound, he would check my estrogen levels and also look at a swab of the cervical mucus under the microscope to check for sperms - which is something Drs here seem to not do. Additionally, he tried new protocols when the old ones did not work and would discuss the treatment plan with me every cycle before he would start me on it. In California, in the facility that I am in I rarely get to see the doctor, and all correspondence gets done through nurse!
More importantly, when I moved to California, I emailed him asking him for suggestions on good doctors here. He immediately responded to my email giving me names of good REs here. Also, a few months ago, I emailed him asking him for the details of the protocol that he followed when I conceived and I got a response from him within an hour explaining what was done, how many follicles I had and what my estrogen levels were.
I cannot simply express how grateful I was to have seen him, specially after the horrible experience I am having in california. I would never had conceived if not for him. I strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a great (not just good) doctor!
