I have been reading these boards for forever, but finally decided to join and this is my very first post (yay!).
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 years old (almost 11 years ago) and have been trying to deal with it ever since. I, like most of you, have tried diet after diet, pill after pill, medication after medication to try to avoid the dreaded workout. I have bad news. Working out is the only thing that has worked for me, but BOY has it worked! I have been working out 6 days a week for the past 3 months, yikes!, I know. However, the past 2 months, I have actually had a regularly scheduled period!! This is AMAZING for me, since it has NEVER happened! I'm not allowed to be on birth control since I had a blood clot recently, so I went 5 months without a period before I started exercising. Who knew?

Thanks for the post...I've been pushing myself for the past 2 weeks to excersize everyday and I've had a few days that I felt like it was all for nothing!!
I'm inspired! Must keep moving forward.........................>

Definitely keep moving forward, it will be well worth it. In my case I have only lost 30 pounds of a 100 pound goal, so some days it seems like it will never happen! I just keep putting one foot in front of the other, though and hopefully before I know it, I'll be down to where I need to be!
You are doing awesome! 30 pounds is a great accomplishment!!!
I also encourage you to check out Fitcysters. I just started and it has been an amazing encouragement and motivator to me. It is awesome to see so many ladies kicking PCOS in the behind =)

I will definitely get there. I have to have 25 posts, though, but I'm workin to get there! That's one of the main reasons I joined
