Default Worried...

I started taking Met about 3 days ago. I'm doing pretty well on it. Just a tiny bit of nausea, a little diarrhea....nothing too bad.

I am having very sore muscles, some dizziness and I'm VERY tired... is this normal?

I have had a problem with swelling for the past year. I started paxil for anxiety and the swelling started shortly after. I went to a urologist and he said my kidneys were fine. I'm still worried though...

Now that I'm on Met, how do I know that my kidneys are working normally? What if they're not? Reading about Lactic Acidosis has scared me to death!!!

Please help. I want to do what's best for my body and get it ovulating again, but I don't want to die trying.

I had the same symptoms when I started Met. Nausea, dizziness, etc. I think those are all normal. As for the kidneys, I have no clue. Call your doctor if it will make you feel better. Good luck!

What about joint pain and muscle soreness? I read that those weren't "normal" side effects. Did you get those too?

I had backaches but that's about it with pain. Really, call your dr. or pharmacist. I'm sure it's nothing but it will ease your mind.

Hi

I was really tired when I first started the Met. But it does wear off.

I go every year and have blood tests for liver/ kidney function. Has your dr suggested this??

I would definitely call your Dr if you're worried.

Default Aching muscles

Interesting what you were saying about aches and pains. I've been on Met. for over a year. (PCOS trying to conceive) AF didn't kick in for about 6 months, but now pretty much like clockwork. Unlike many, I started off at absolutely spot-on body weight, but have now lost 20lbs and now scrawny and underweight. Everyone tells me that I look ill. (but I'm not). I do however, get very achy joints after sugary meals and beyond intense feeling of hunger to which sometimes I give in and sometimes I don't.
My concession to met: kicked the Coca-cola habit.

Default achy joints

I was SOOO very achy when I first started the met...and get that way each time I up the meds (upped to 1500 yesterday).

I think a large part of it for me is that I'm not sleeping well...plus the change in blood sugar. One thing I've added is a prenatal vitamin. It has the b12 and stuff in it, and that seems to help. I am ttc so it definitly doesn't hurt to already be on it. Alot of the women's vitamins have b12 in them as well....if you are calling your dr, you might ask them.

Also, I know I get achier and stuff when my blood sugar is dropping...so I keep jolly ranchers on hand...first of all quick sugar fix until I can get some real food...and second: they are so powerful that I don't get that metallic taste I sometimes get with the met.

HUGS!

Brittany (I just love this smilie
