I understand your worries. I had the same ones when I was 21. Women with pcos can have a more (sometimes much more) difficult time conceiving than those without pcos, but having pcos doesn't necessarily mean that you will have infertility, or will never have children. Just look around at all the women on this board who are pregnant and/or already have children! If you are not ttc in the near future, you can still help yourself be ready for when that time comes. That could include maintaining a healthy weight, being/staying on meds such as metformin, ect, getting regular health check-ups, getting regular exercise, monitoring your stress level and seeing a professional if stress/depression/anxiety get to be more than you can deal with on your own, and working with a doctor who knows about pcos and can address your concerns about having children down the road. When you're not on bcp's, do you have af on your own? When you're ready, you may want to consider switching to another form of birth control and monitoring your temperatures every morning before you get up to see if you are ovulating. If you are ovulating, that will be helpful for your dr to see what kind, if any, meds you may need to either get pg or sustain a pregnancy.
Hope that helps~
