Default worried now

When I had my ultrasound and then the internal scan the dr told me my womb lining was thick. In my naiveity I thought that just meant endemtriosis but reading around Ikepp seeing endometrial cancer mentionned everywhere.

Can somebody please enlighten me?

Woman who have PCOS often have a thickend uterine lining, because most of us don't have a regular period and we don't shed the lining every month.
Before I was diagnosed with PCOS I had a histeroscopy and my lining was also very thick.
I did find out that I also had endometriosis.
I hope this helps a little.

yes, thanks. I suppose i am just 'in the dark' stage waiting for the Dr toconfirm everything from the scans.

My problem is that I am practically bleeding all the time (sorry to be so graphic)

It's alright. you don't have to worry about embarasing questions around here .

I have the same problem. I believe it's because our hormones arn't correct and it causes alot of withdrawl bleeding and even though your bleeding all of the time, your still not completly shedding the lining every month so it just sits in there and builds up.
Often the blood will be dark or brown because it's old, at least that what I have.

I was in the same boat as you girls, there were times that AF could and often DID last upto 90 days at a time! I was tested for endometriosis and it was negative - after that is when my gyn suggested that I have a D&C (& hysteroscopy to check for fibroids) ... so I had it did - My cycles now are like night and day compared to before ... I've gone from 90 days to an average of 6 days and it's wonderful!

Sam :: I also wanted to say to SC! Have you checked out the Endometriosis forums? If not, you really should see what other info you can find out there.

Unforunatly the D&C didn't make me regular. My hormones are so screwed up. AF can last for ages. Iv'e been using Natural Progesterone Cream for a while and it realy helps.

Thanks eveyone and Hello back

It's amazing you know, you think nobody could possibly understand / your symptoms are so bad there must be something worse than what they are telling you then you come to a site like this and you find you're not alone, you're not the only one going through it

Next dumb question: what are all the abbreviations about? I can work out a few but others???? Is there a list anywhere?

Again THANK YOU EVERYONE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

After 2 or3 days it is, and it carries on like that for the next god knows how many days.

But when the bleeding first starts it really is bright red, obviously fresh blood, yuck.

Oh it's sooooo good to know i'm not the only one *does a little dance*

Meds and regular periods can fix your lining!
Try this for the abbreviations!

Thanks Pamela b/c I didn't even mention meds!

Loreo & Sam :: Lots of women on here use Met along with BCP's to help with regulation - are either of you using meds?

Not yet, although I suspect this willchange when I see my docfor the formal diagnosis. At one point I was given Mefenamic Acid and Tranexamic Acid neither of which seemed to make any difference but as always, thank you for your advice & support

I'm not using any meds right now because I don't have any insurance. I have been using Natural Progesterone Cream for a while and it's been pretty helpful.
