I started taking Met about 3 days ago. I'm doing pretty well on it. Just a tiny bit of nausea, a little diarrhea....nothing too bad.
But, I am having very sore muscles and joint pain.. is this normal?
I have had a problem with swelling for the past year. I started paxil for anxiety and the swelling started shortly after. I went to a urologist and he said my kidneys were fine. This was over a year ago and I'm still worried though...
Now that I'm on Met, how do I know that my kidneys are working normally? What if they're not? Reading about Lactic Acidosis has scared me to death!!!
Please help. I want to do what's best for my body and get it ovulating again, but I don't want to die trying.
Call your doctor and explain what is going on with you hon.

I had the same problems my dr. said It couldn't be the medication I was miserable for 3 1/2 weeks I called the pharmasict he said all signs of my body could't handle met call my dr.. Dr. said not possible I stopped taking medication it all went away with in a day. Calll your Dr. Oh & at our pharmacy they give you side effect sheets Muscle weakness is one of the side effects that warn you to call the dr. asap.

I have an appointment scheduled for Friday to have my kidney and liver function tested.
In the meantime, I'm still taking the met. My joints are still hurting like crazy...as long as that doesn't mean I'm getting lactic acidosis it doesn't bother me.

The dr. asked me to keep taking it...I had an ultrasound and bloodwork to check kidney function on Friday. I am awaiting the results.
The joint pain has eased up a lot. I went up to my full dosage...1500 mgs two days ago. Stomach problems have not been fun today, but I'm sure I'll cope.
Worried...please help
