OK so yesterday I was at a conference with work and there were several different healthcare companies there promoting their products.
One of the stands there was run by vitaline which is a company that specialises in women with PCOS helping them to lose weight. Here is the link if you are interested (http://www.vitaline-slimming.com/pcos/ )
Anyway, I was just chatting to one of the women running the stand and I said to her "Oh I have PCOS but I am very lucky as I have a 14 month old daughter"
Her reply to me was "Congratulations. But I see you are still struggling with your weight though"
I hadnt said anything to her about my weight! Grrr! Now I know I need to lose weight but I didnt need some complete stranger to point it out to me! What a *****!
Am I being a bit sensitive here or would you be offended too?

I was have slapped her naomia....for someone who is running a stand promoting a company that supposidly helps PCOs sufferes then she should have known that it is just not as easy as that!
Was she part of the company? If so maybe e-mail them or write to them complaining! She is the insesitive one
I don't think you were being over sensitive at all, that was a really rude thing to say. She obviously has had her editing system removed or it has been overtaken by her sales brain

I would be offended It's really rude for a stranger to say that no matter what they're promoting.
Maybe she thought as you mentioned the PCOS that you wanted to talk about the product/weight or something? Was she on commision for her product? Not sure what context the conversation was beforehand, still rude and can't be excused I don't think!

Personally, I don't allow myself to get offended my stupid people's stupid remarks. (Why waste time and effort, and zap my spiritual energy.) But certain things are just not appropriate to be said.
I am still quite a bit overweight, but before I got PG, I had lost almost 60 lbs. If she had said that to me, I would have corrected her on the spot.
She should not ASSume that just because a person appears to have a few extra pounds that they are "struggling" with their weight.
She was also ASSuming that you need to buy her product, and was trying to convince you of the same. Not a very good sales tactic.
When I was doing nutritional assessments, we NEVER assumed that our clients who looked a bit overweight were wanting to lose weight. In part of our interview, we asked EVERYONE, thin, or heavy, if they would like to gain weight, lose weight, or stay the same. Then they could tell me if they wanted help with weight loss or not. They could tell me if they wanted to buy weight loss products or not. It really is a better way to make the sale if the customer convinces the sales person that they need a certain product, rather than the other way around.

I'd be shocked. But I think it's pretty obvious she was trying to sell her product. I suppose that weight loss is always at the forefront of her mind - as she works for these people - and as you spoke to her, she thought it gave her permission to start her selling talk. Nevertheless, I think it was dumb of her, and if you HAD wanted to try the Vitaline system, I'm sure you don't now!
