Hi there!

I did try Xenical. I loved it......while I was on it. If you ate anything with a high content of fat in it, be prepared to run to the washroom. It comes out in an oily discharge type way (maybe TMI, but you wanted to know )

I lost 60lbs in about a year (from July 2001 to August 2002).

Then, came the let down. I didn't really change my eating habits all that much, and when I stopped the pills, the weight slowly started coming back.

You may have different results. If you go into it with the frame of mind that you are going to change the way you eat, you will likely do just fine.

Good luck -- let me know if you decide to take it.

I tried Xenical. Admittedly, I didnt do much to change my eating habits and I actually gained weight while I was on it.

I think that it can be very helpful as long as you're willing to make big changes as well.

Hi I'm new to this forum, but I have tried Xenical. I take it three times a day and have been on it for 6 months now.

At first it was good, I lost weight, but now am putting it back on again. Also coming off xenical as side effects were getting too much (grumbling stomach all the time, having to keep dashing to the loo etc...)

So no medication now, after 8 years of being diagnosed I have had no help from doctors at all. Most think I am really lazy or overeat (I am neither). Anyone esle come across this discrimination?

Yes, I've come across that discrimination, too. From my family doctor. He tried to tell me I wouldn't lose any weight on it.

Also, I forgot to add that I exercised every day. Without fail. I was into a really good routine; either the exercise bike, a video or sometimes both.

I really believe the exercise made a big difference.

I didn't keep up with the exercise after stopping Xenical because I was getting headaches and didn't feel like exercising. That's where I went wrong because I feel I would have been able to keep most of it off if I had continued.

I went to the dr last week. I've lost 20 lbs this year by changing my eating habits (i.e. portion sizes, healthier food choices, etc). I don't forbid any foods, and I think mentally that has helped.

I currently eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, usually a salad for lunch (occasionally fast food but I will usually get something small) and then a decent supper. I asked the doctor about putting me on Xenical. He gave me a rx but I haven't tried to fill it yet.

My question is if I've already changed my eating habits will it benefit me that much to take Xenical?

I was on Xenical last April. It didnt do anything for me.

The first week I was on it I gained 2 pounds! I only stayed on it for a month. During that time I lost 3 and half pounds. It cost me €109 for a months packet.

Maybe if it had cost less I would have stayed on it for longer...but honestly for €109 I was expecting to lose a lot more than 3 and half pounds
