Default XR versus Plain Old Metformin

Question-

The first 2 months I was on Metformin I Ovulated. I was on the plain old metformin not the extended release. It was awful tough on my tummy so my doc switched me to the extended release. I haven't O'd sense. Is this just coincidence? My doc says it shouldn't matter....but I was curious if anyone else had this experience.

Hi Karen...I'm the exact opposite as you. I've been on regular Met and I haven't ovulated yet. I do have an appointment on Tuesday and I was going to request the XR. I wonder if it depends on our body types. However, I really don't know what the correct answer it. Once I find out any answers, I'll let you know.

I started with XR since the beginning. No tummy problems at all with it and ovulation appeared pretty quick. I guess it works different with everybody, but what my Dr told me be4 I started it is that since its extended release it takes time to one to start noticing its effects. Good luck girls...
