I just had to share with you that yesterday afternoon we received our letter from the INS that we are approved for International Adoption!!!
Today I got an email from our agency and here's what the first line says:
"Dear Families:
Congratulations on your INS approval! You are approved to adopt internationally!"
WOOHOO!!! I can hardly contain myself!
It takes about 20 days to finish the certification and authentication process and another 7-10 days to express mail the dossier to CCAA. Someone from the agency will contact us when our dossier has been sent to China (DTC) and then we will be officially waiting (even though I feel like I already am!)
I am so thrilled I am typing through tears!! And poor CTCyster is being so sweet on IM listening to me go on & on about this.
Just wanted to share my excitement!

What a GIANT step !!! This is GREAT news for you !!!
INS is the same thing as our Ministry approval over here in Ontario, Canada and we are waiting for ours to come through (should be end of February) so it certainly MADE MY DAY to hear about someone coming through it that is still alive !!

Lisa,
Wow-that is so wonderful. As I read your message, I couldn't help but think that right now there is some little baby girl that has been soooo blessed! She gets YOU as her mommy! Wouldn't it be great if all children were wanted this much?
Congrats and enjoy! I'm envious of the wonderful, tender, moments you have ahead of you. Savor them.
Much love,
Leed
Well, here I am still crying! Good tears, of course! But after reading your sweet messages I can't help it! I am so emotional right now.
We have a long road ahead still....about 1 month till our dossier is sent to China, and then another year or so till referral, but I am so overjoyed right now.
Thanks for all your support. You gals mean the world to me!
PS--dna...I can't wait to hear of your wonderful news come the end of February!! We are like expectant parents now!!

This is the news you've been waiting for! Things should really start rolling, now!
I thought of you when I saw this sweet little girl on a New Year's Poster. It is from a Communist Party poster, though, so who knows what that banner she is carrying really says?! But, anyway, I thought she was a cutie!
I wanted to pop in here and tell you ALL again how much I appreciate your kind words & encouragement. It truly means the world to me.
dna, lemondog, janie_t, jenjen and anyone else going through/considering adoption....I hope I am as supportive of you as you are of me. You are all so inspiring!! I really appreciate all the wisdom, advice, and pointers you all share!
And Aimee, Torie, & KKat.... You are some of the sweetest & kindest women I have met here. I truly value your friendships and appreciate all the support you are giving me. I love you all! **sniff, sniff**
Leed....Thanks for your kind words. Believe me, this child will certainly know she is loved.....in fact, I hope and pray she is feeling our love this very moment. We have requested a 6-12 month old so it's odd to think that the bio mom could be pg right now or, actually, Lily could already be born!! How cool is that?
One last thing before I go tonight and then I'll stop being mushy for a while! Here's a song that reminds us of Lily (remember Fievel???)
Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere, out there
