Default Yasmin

I was put on Yasmin today and I was wanting to know from those of you who are on it, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like it? Does it work for you in controlling your PCOS?

TIA

I love it. I was on it a few years ago and had a bumpy ride (vowed never to try Yasmin again!), but this time around it seems to be working better for me. I have much better skin, my hair is glossy and thick where I want it to be, I am losing weight and my periods are incredibly short and light. The first 3 months were a bit tough for me, acne-wise and also with some cramps, BUT I would urge you to persevere! I am on my 5th month and feel more like myself than I have in ages. Also I don't get bad headaches like I seemed to on other pills.

The drospirenone is the only progestogen that is really similar to natural progesterone, which is why side effects *can* be less serious and annoying.

The usual side effects may occur when you first start it - I had really sore boobs (not now) and a few horrible spots (rarely now), plus some random nausea, like in the middle of the night, but nothing happened. I stuck with it and I am glad now.

Hope this helps.
