I have a prescription for Yasmin. I have never used BCP before but my short term priority is to clear up my cystic acne skin in 1 month because I am in a play. I have looked at a lot of websites and some people say it clears the skin right away and some people say it takes a couple months. I have even heard thet it can get worse before it gets better. I can't take that chance!!!!! (I also have a prescription for spironolactone). Just wondering how quickly everyone's skin cleared on this forum? I also have a bottle of saw palmetto, and am wondering if I should do that instead (I'll ask about that on the alternative board.)

I have had good luck with Yasmin and my acne. I've never had a huge problem with acne like cystic acne, but I never had a clear face either. I noticed a diffrence shortly after I started taking yasmin. I think it just depends on your body. I also make sure to wash my face twice a day, that seems to help too.
