Default Yasmin Effects Naproxen Effectiveness?

I've been taking Yasmin for 3 months now. When AF comes I always get pretty bad cramps. For years now I've been taking Naproxen and it used to completely get rid of them. However, now that I've started Yasmin the Naproxen doesn't work at all (sometimes) or definitely not nearly as well as it did before.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I never noticed that. And I read the book. It's on the very first page. But I take it MAYBE three days a month. Only when on AF I might take them. And the pamphlet says when taken long term. And my doctor prescribed them to me right after.

Maybe Yasmin is causing a different kind of cramping that Naproxen doesn't help. Normally, cramps get much better while on BCPs because they thin the lining of your uterus and you have a much lighter period. Have you considered trying a different pain killer? Naproxen doesn't work as well for me as Ibuprofin does.

I'm not really sure. Ibuprofen has never worked for me, but the Naproxen always did. Now the Naproxen isn't working, so maybe I should try Ibuprofen again. I should ask my doctor, but since he prescribed it to me I'm not really sure if he's going to be much help.

I take Alleve now and again for back pain/inflammation and I am on Yasmin. When I say now and again though, I mean like 1-3 times per month. I think you are not supposed to take it with Yasmin on a daily basis. It still works for my pain though.

I also only have AF for 1/2 - 1 day per month on Yasmin so it doesnt cause more bleeding in everyone.....we are all different. I have been on it for 5 years.
