Question YASMIN & Experiences

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for looking at my post, I really appreciate it!

I was wondering about everyone's experience with Yasmin. I just got Yasmin yesterday and will start taking it on Sunday.

It seems that Yasmin is very helpful to those with PCOS and I thought it would be good to have a thread with all the different (good or bad) experiences with Yasmin, so PLEASE respond if you have been using Yasmin or you have heard anything about Yasmin that would be helpful.

I would really appreciate it if you wrote how long you've been on Yasmin, side effects you've experienced, and if Yasmin has alleviated any of the PCOS symptoms we all would rather not have. Also anything else you want to include of course.

I am very interested in all of your responses. Thank you so much!
I hope that any information you post can help everyone interested in Yasmin.

I've been on Yasmin for almost two years I'm thinking. I was on Orthotrycilin before being put on yasmin, and I think Ortho really helped more with the monthly cystic acne break-outs. On yasmin I get really bad cystic acne in a few spots on my face, usually around my nose chin and jawline. I use Proactiv, but it doesn't seem to help the monthly breakouts as much as maintaining an overall clean face... I dunno.. I'm rambling. Good thread tho!

Default Yasmin!

I have been taking Yasmin for three years with excellent results. The first few months I had nausea, breast tenderness and horrible knawing stomach hunger pangs. It was like I couldn't get full! I adjusted to that side effect after about three months. It was the oddest thing! (Normally, I don't have an appetite) I do take the med at night before bedtime. I always wake up in the night to use the bathroom (side effect of the diuretic in the Yasmin I think). When I am off of them for the placebo week, the biggest thing I notice is that I don't sleep as well and often have hormonal change headaches. THe headaches aren't severe but I definitely notice the hormonal changes. The best side effect of taking this pill for me has been the beatiful clear skin I have, and getting rid of the water retention problem. I am thrilled with my results on this pill and I am also taking Metformin ER (Glucophage XR) and take 1000 mgs in the a.m. I tried taking both together and that was a nightmare. I felt tired and miserable. After three years of this regime, I can finally say.....HORMONES UNDER CONTROL!!!

Blessings!

Candace

Cool

I have been on Yasmin for two and a half weeks now. I do experience nausea from time to time, especially when I take it with Gluco XR. I do notice that my hair growth is slowing down and my acne is much, much better. One thing I do notice.....I started Glucophage XR 3 weeks ago (2000mg/ day) and my moods were do good. No ups and downs....it seemed I was at peace with everything and was less stressed. When I added Yasmin to my regimen, I did become a bit more moodier, but not like before.
