I was only on it for a month so I guess that wasnt enough time. My excuse was it made my skin worse but now here I am almost two months later and my skin is still terrible so maybe I should have given it a little longer to work

I was on and off of it for a total of around 15 months. It worked well for me. I didn't notice any weight gain/loss, made my skin clearer, still had an adequate sex drive. I had facial hair before I started it but it didn't increase it or make it darker. I think it is one of those pills that it either works really well for a person or it doesn't work at all.

I took Yasmin for over a year and that was when I had my greatest PCOS successes... I was able to lose weight and keep it off, my facial hair diminished, my skin was clear, I had regular periods, it was great.. but on the bad side of things my blood pressure went sky high, I became super "ragey" and my normally really great sex drive was in the toliet. I would love to go on it again, but the blood pressure thing scared me.

I took yasmin for about 4 years... it wasn't until after i stopped taking it that things got worse for me... i had quit taking it about 2 years ago because it was making me super moody... like bawl-your-eyes-out-for-no-reason moody..lol but, when i quit taking it, i put on a HELL of alot of weight, my face got worse(it's just recently started to get a little better), and the facial hair got ALOT worse... also, now instead of being weepy, i feel like i'm always irritable.. it sucks.. so DH and i decided that it's worth me being moody and weepy than all the other crap combined... i go to the doc at the end of month and i'm gonna tell him to put me back on it... so we'll see! :c)

I did some research because I started on Yasmin and then moved on to Yaz and then to Balziva, and on Yaz my hair loss got really bad. I started Balziva for a while because dumb gyno said it had more estrogen. But in actuality Balziva had less of the synthetic estrogen and actually had some androgenic side effects (meaning testosterone related things such as acne, and basically the bad PCOS symtoms). With Yasmin, I looked up that, first off, it had more estrogen which typically helps with hair growth if you are like us with PCOS and don't have enough, and it clinically has shown not to have ANY androgenic side effects. Point being, I am going back on the Yasmin because these are good facts to me (and because when I was on it it worked wonders). Yaz, was good too. But the hair loss got worse, and I think this is because of the lack of estrogen. But yeah, i would definitely recommend it. Plus I remember my boobs getting slightly bigger too, and usually that's a plus

Thumbs up

I have been on yasmin about 3 months and i love it. I think my hair is not falling out so much , my skin is smoother , my breasts are a little fuller which for me is like a miracle. I have always been a very sensitive emotional person and on yasmin i think i actually feel better , less ragey. Maybe cause it is supposed to lower the testosterone .

I was on Yasmin on an off for a few years as a BCM. I loved it! Kept my weight normal, and PMS was no biggie. Normal cycles/ beautiful skin. TTC now, I did gain (a Lot) of weight when I went off. I have been off since 2005 and was diagnosed with PCO's in November.

I've been on Yasmin for 3 months and I love it. the first 2 weeks I was very emotional. I cried about everything..and by the third week I started feeling better. my boobies are fuller, no bloating, facial hair is nearly invisible. Before I started meds..I used to have these episodes of emotional meltdowns. It would hit me like a truck where ever I would be and every since being Yasmin I've yet to have a meltdown. Ive also been losing weight..and keeping it off.

I quit gaining weight the month that I started taking Yasmin. It's worked wonders for me. However, I'm curious what everyone's experiences have been with Yaz. It's supposed to lower estrogen levels, which would be good since most women with PCOS are estrogen dominant, right?
