Default Yasmin and Metformin...side effects??

I just started taking Yasmin Last week, so I am almost done w/ the second week. I haven't had side effects last week from Yasmin and I have been on Met since Feb 04. So this week I have been having major problems with nausea and stomach problems. I have received some headaches that start in the back of my head. I don't know if this is normal or not. I feel like I have to go to the bathroom, but I am not going that well. I don't know if I am gettin sick or its the pill or if I am pregnant. I am worried because I did have sex without a condom a week after starting the pack, which was also a week after my period, but I've read that the pills should cover that. I don't know, I am scared and confused and I don't know if anyone experienced these side effects on Yasmin and Met or Yasmin alone. THanks!!

If in doubt, get checked! I don't know how fast the Yasmin takes to go into effect. (I'm on it, but don't have to worry. Got DH 'fixed' a few years back.) If nothing else get a drug store test to check. I have not had the nausea side effect with the Yasmin (yet) but the first BCP's I was on years ago did give me "morning sickness".

I am also on yasmin and metaformin and I do not experience any side effects. I take my yasmin right when I go to bed I always take things that are new or an increase in a dosage at night. I think it helps with any side effects. Good luck and don't panic. Just go get checked.

Thanks a lot. I will get checked, but I think I need to not take Metformin and Yasmin together. I take 2 does of Met. ANd I do take my yasmin at night, but I need to space it, b/c I think it is the yasmin making me nautious. Thanks!!

I have never been on Met but I did take Yasmin for about 2 months before I had to stop taking it. It was making me really nauseous and MOODY, not to mention I got a lot of headaches (one every night)!!! I know everyone is different but I thought I would give you my input!!!

I have 2 Active Pills left before my blank pills and i got my period. So I think its just getting used to Yasmin. I didn't really get any major PMS symptoms at all and my breasts didnt get sore. They did feel sligtly bigger...but nothing major. So I guess starting out w/ BCPs is going to be an adjustment. Thanks for all who replied.

I tried yasmin when I was first diagnosed and I started getting night sweats. I asked my dr. about it and he thought I might be going through early menopause. (YIKES, I'm only 26 - how unlucky would that be PCOS and early menopause) Anyway I ended up having to go off the pill to get my blood tested and once I was off them I stopped getting the night sweats. Now I'm on ortho-tricyclene (sp). I'm thinking about met but I'm not sure if I need it.

I've been taking Yasmin for about 6 months now. It does better for me than the OrthoTricycl. However, I was suppose to take 1000 mg of Met with it, and found my body didn't do so well. So, I'm just taking 500 mg of Met with the Yasmin. Personally, I think the Yasmin is helping my PCOS symptoms better.
But, everyone is different when it comes to BCPS and meds.
