I have just finished my second month of Yasmin and so far it's great except for terrible moodiness as soon as I get into the fourth (placebo) week. I am weepy and angry at DH and kids. Out of proportion to reality, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, in every other way this seems to be a great pill for me. Has anyone gone thru this? Might the moodiness subside after another month or two on this pill?

Haven't had any experience with Yasmin, but I've been told in general that 3 months is the magic number for your body to adjust, so you may want to give it another month if you can put up with the side effects. Good luck!

Hi! I was on Yasmin for 3 months and my moodiness and depression did not go away. I went off it and approached a more natural remedy and I am doing great
Good luck,

I have been on Yasmin for 18 months. I do continue to have the terrible grumpy moodiness during the cycle week but it is well worth that for me. Without the pill, I am grumpy ALL MONTH long, I suppose due to the hormonal fluctutations. Yasmin has been the only pill my body has ever agreed with. I was on Demulen for years but battled with cyclical headaches. I do have headaches when I quit taking the pill during the cycle week. If I could just avoid chocolate during that week, that might help matters!

I was taking yasmen 14 months ago and it woked graet Af was ontime, alittle moody 1 week before but better then all month long!I just recently went off it the 11th month as I did not get AF 11th month and 12th month then I got AF really bad as scheduled on the 8th of December.Im a little confused about that but overall I love yasmen and it made me feel so much better!
I was ok the 1st two rows but once I hit the 3rd it was pretty much all down hill. I had depression and night sweats on this pill and the grumpyness with my kid like u described. I switched to mircette and my moods magically evened out. I would say I became a much more even keeled person. If 20 mcg is not enuf estrogen for you...desogen and cyclessa (same progestin-desogestrel) are higher. As for other side effects....These pills are also low androgen so acne and hirustism improve !
Give the Yasmin 3 mos, if not , talk to ur doc about switching...
I'm at the end of week 3, month 4. I have realised that the headaches I used to get in week 4 on Diane35, I am now getting in week 3 on Yasmin. I just gave DH the heads up that I'm starting my week off and to cut me some slack on my moods for the next few days. He just laughed, but I think it was a good idea to clue him in before the moodiness hits and I become irrational.
Anyway, I'm hoping for the best and will probably stick with the Yasmin for a few more month, or until divorce proceeding commence (LOL!).
Thanks for all your replies.
