Default Yasmin and moods?

I am just starting into my 3rd week of Yasmin and I notice that the last week or so I have been so moody. I was even reduced to tears over something stupid yesterday (it normally takes a death to get me into tears). I've been a total witch to my dh the last week and I can't help it! Also, I noticed I have ZERO sex drive which is really abnormal for me. Any advice? I'm also taking 1500mg of Gluc working up to 2000mg. Thanks!

I have been on the Yasmin last year for four months and I had the same effects. I cried at the drop of a hat, got extremely irritable and my sex drive was zero. It did clear up my acne a bit and helped with my oily scalp but I was not willing to pay a price that high. I was a bit angry at my GYN who would not believe me - the YASMIN pill has been touted here in Germany as the "pill that doesn't make you put on weight, it doesn't make you moody and irritable and it helps your skin". my doc said it had no side effects whatsoever, which I think is a hoax.

I'd suggest you wait for another two months or so (if you can) and then talk to your GP/GYN. Maybe the hormonal balance will be better in a few months, if not, there are surely other methods of contraception or at least other pills.

yes! Yasmin helped me in sooo many ways but it made me N-U-T-S! I think it's the progesterone!

Yasmin has helped me stay in a good mood, keeps me from crying at the drop of a hat like I used to - all of my extra body hair has vanished since being on Yasmin, and it seems to have helped in my weight loss efforts. I guess it's different for everyone, but I love Yasmin. I also take a low dose of Synthroid though - maybe that helps with my moods too, since it gives me more energy.

Yasmin affected my moods horribly. I pretty much cried for 4 weeks. I am no longer taking Yasmin.

Yasmin made me moody and aggressive. I felt out of control. And, I was nauseated severely for the five months I was on it. It didn't help with hair growth or acne either. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor for something else.

Yasmin has been my godsend! I have been on it for two years, and initially the first 3 mos were a bit tricky but the effects you mentioned ( slight nausea and headaches) went away with time. I have been on BCP for PCOS since my diagnosis in 1988 and Yasmin has been the first pill that actually continued to regulate my cycles, got rid of the acne and helped my mood swings. I will say that the third week ( my PMS week) I still get cranky but my cramps have been lighter and my cravings not nearly as horrendous as before. I have also used ortho-tricyclen, Alesse, Mircette and Ortho-Evra( the patch) but got HORRIBLE menstrual migraines from them and after 6 months my cycle would no longer be regular. Usually the Dr. suggests a full 6 months before they switch you, but if you can't function then it's not worth it. Good Luck in finding what works for you! Grace

Default that baby is adorable

now aside from that, Yasmin can do what it says with certain people. It seems like there are either Ortho tri cyclen people or Yasmin people. As for making your skin better, it has made my butt baby smooth almost... Sorry to share that with you. What it's done for me is wonderful, but lately the side effects are worrying me.
