Question To Yasmin or not to Yasmin...that is the question

Can anyone who is taking Yasin or has taken it please give me some info. I have stopped taking Dianne-35 because of the nausea and motion sickness and mini-pills don't work at all for me (AF every 10 days) so I want to ask my Dr for Yasmin. Any info wouold be greatly appreciated!!

Thumbs up I like Yasmin

I have taken many different types of pills over the years and actually refused to try anymore birth control pills due to placebo week migraines, until I discovered Yasmin 2 years ago. It has worked very well for me. It took a while to get the hormones settled down (at least three months). Settled meaning, swollen tender breasts, some PMS, but the most benefit I have received from taking it is an incredible complexion. I was having consistant cystic acne without the pill and felt like I was 14 again! I also notice that It keeps the water retention settled which of course helps keep the weight in check. (I can flucutate weight by 1-2 lbs day to day.) The only complaint I have at this point is headaches when I quit taking them for a cycle, but the headaches are more often when I don't take the pill at all. With the Glucophage XR and the pill my symptoms, hair growth, acne and weight gain are under control along with a no sugar or very little sugar controlled diet.

Good Luck!

Default Undecided at the moment ...

I've been on Yasmin for 2 months now after swapping over from Levlen ED because I was having huge emotional mood swings on that. Since being on Yasmin, my mood swings have become worse .. I'd go as far as to say that I'm depressed. I'm also taking Androcur, so I'm not 100% sure if it's the pill or the Androcur causing the depression, but I'm thinking the pill because I'm feeling worse since being on that. I know that the body can take longer than a couple of months to settle with the hormones, so I'm undecided what to do at the moment.

On the up side, my period actually arrived on Friday. I haven't had a proper period since I started taking the pill and Androcur in January of this year .. some spotting and a period that was extremely light and barely lasted 2 days.

I hope that's helpful.
